The Sunday night of Labor Day Weekend at House of Blues can only mean one thing.
The annual "Labor Day Bash".
Twas' the night before Labor Day and all through the House (of Blues), not a creature was stirring, just Jimmy's spouse!
DJ Jimmy Joslin (USA), that is.
The first third of his set was on the House side of music before returning to what he's best-known for, Breaks!
The opener typically faces a mostly empty room but just 22 minutes after the 7PM opening time, the dance floor already looked like this!
Jimmy Joslin was a resident DJ here at House of Blues back during the years they operated their every Sunday-night "Service Industry Night (SIN)".
DJ Genesis (USA) was thrilled when Jimmy dropped Genesis' brand new track to the receptive crowd.
By the time his hour set was concluding, the club was already jammed!
Prior to the doors opening, we ran into quite a few peeps we know from the Florida music scene.
Once inside, more peeps! Some we knew and some were new.
Every DJ last night had a one hour set so the next shift began at 8PM.
The legendary DJ Kimball Collins (USA).
Kimball had the dance floor bouncing!
Didn't even try to go down there!
A great mix of House, Progressive House and some EDM. The music even had Kimball bouncing.
Time for another drink from Angela, the bestest bartender in HOB.
The proverbial packed to the rafters!
And full of loud enthusiasm too.
And then at 9PM, there she was! The Bass Queen!
DJ Baby Anne (USA)
With the Intro provided by illDJChris B (USA).
Going Breaks on us, a large roar of approval from the crowd.
Go Go Dancer Kriss Reign (USA) made here first appearance last night during Baby Anne's set. They say you can never go wrong with Go Go girls.
Well damn, they were right!
Baby Anne was pretty animated during her entire set.
She even picked-up a couple private dancers in the booth.
Congratulations on your engagement!
More peeps!
Thank you to everyone for your poses last night!
This reminds me. Don't miss the Club 600 North Reunion show taking place on Saturday, September 27th at Grandview Live in Daytona Beach. Not only will (pictured above) DJ X (USA) and DJ Mark Sanchez (USA) be playing, but it also marks the return of the retired DJ Sharaz (USA)! Advance tickets HERE.
More peeps!
Already 10PM and it was time for was the first of two back-to-back headliners!
DJ Icey (USA)
Continuing with a mostly Breaks sound.
Icey is great at delivering what the crowd came for.
Set included Classic Dance hits "Sweet Harmony" and "Everyday".
Kriss Reign back for her next dance set!
Icey had the crowd bouncing!
11PM was soon arriving and no one was leaving!
More peeps!
Spotted in VIP: The Z-Brothers consisting of DJ Tony Z (USA) from Live! at the Pointe and DJ David Z (USA) from Orlando City Soccer.
Nightlife photographer extraordinaire Brian Miller was in the club!
The second of last night's two headliners would close out the night.
DJ Magic Mike (USA)
Breaks and Electro drew cheers from the audience.
Mrs. Magic Mike would toss-out a few Magic Mike tee-shirts.
Classic Dance songs such as "(You've Got To) Show Me Love", "You're Not Alone" and even a Breaks remix of "Titanium" kept everyone in their places to the very end.
Mike too was one of the resident DJ's here at House of Blues SIN.
What a night! A good time was had by all.
And we closed out the night by crossing the No. 5 Bridge one more time to beautiful Pleasure Island.
