Concert Report: Cristoph (Celine Nightclub)

Celine Nightclub is downtown Orlando's home to big name electronic music DJ's.

In the main room when I arrived, DJ Marcio Pantoja (BR/USA) was on stage. I had just seen him last weekend for the first time at Elixir when he opened for Dirty South (SRB/USA).

It was still early but the crowd was already-gathering.

Many early-arrivals at Celine head upstairs first to the rooftop, as did I. This is where we found DJ Fatkat (USA) in the booth.

It was pretty crowded up here.

The vibe up here is always amazing!

Fatkat was really getting into his set!

Spotted by the bar: DJ Dose (USA), DJ Andrez (USA) and DJ Kris Klutch (USA).

OK, back downstairs where DJ Cespedes (USA) had taken over.

And then at 12:30AM, there he was.....

DJ/Producer Cristoph (GB)

He started his journey with some slower non-vocal selections.

The dance floor was jammed!

His set was more on the Progressive side of House and it was a good 20-minutes before any songs had vocals in them.

Many say that Cristoph is really Calvin Harris (GB) and the two do look similar. He is on Eric Prydz (S) "Pryda Presents" record label.

The crowd wasn't particularly loud last night but the room was full.

Upstairs, downstairs, a good time was had by all.

I'm scheduled to see DJ Zedd (D) this Saturday night at Omnia Nightclub in Las Vegas. With the storm approaching though, this concert may be in doubt.....for me. While I'm certain my outbound flight will operate on Saturday, I'm less certain that my return flight will be able to get me home because it's arrival time back in Orlando is right when Dorian may be passing through.
My trip may get scrubbed. Will make decision by Friday.
Speaking of Zedd, did you know the most popular Blog article ever has nothing to do with Pleasure Island or with the Orlando nightclub scene? Our most-viewed Blog article was published in 2012 and it was called Zedd vs Zeds Dead. At that time in history both Zedd and DJ duo Zeds Dead (CDN) were beginning to make names for themselves and a lot of people were wondering if they were one and the same. So our article attempted to differentiate them in a fun way. Here we are seven years later and people still hunt for answers. If you type Zedd and Zeds Dead into Google, the Blog article makes page 1 of search results. That article is seriously dated now. LINK.

Meanwhile a new night at Sportsclub by Celine which is where Peek Downtown used to operate called "Thursday Knights".  Place has been pretty crowded the last couple times I've gone by.  Hip Hop.

Lot of buzz around town for this appearance by Christoph (USA) at Celine. And no, he's not Calvin Harris.  Deep House / Tech House / Techno.

CANCELLED The biggest show of the weekend is out at the Central Florida Fairgrounds where a mini-festival is taking place from 6PM to 11:30PM ft. DJ's Oliver Heldens (NL), Galantis (S), Said The Sky (USA) and more! Electrohouse / Progressive House / Dubstep / Trap / More.

Closer to downtown and scheduled to be outdoors on Elixir's patio, DJ Kyle Watson (ZA) returns to Orlando this Saturday night. Keep an eye on the weather though in case they need to bring this indoors. House.

CANCELLED The Graffiti Junction over by Lake Eola will be home this Saturday night from a special show from DJ Ray Love (USA) and DJ Caesar (USA). And the format should make it a fun night!  80's & 90's Hits.

POSTPONED TO DEC 7  Keep an eye on the weather for this Saturday night event if tropical weather is approaching the coast because this one is taking place on the Victory Casino Lines boat and it could get scrubbed. CANCELLED Sunday night, holiday weekend? You know what that means! DJ Magic Mike at House of Blues in Disney Springs. Will be packed but you'll be able to get tickets at the HOB box office night of show. DJ Ish (USA) and DJ Rincon (USA) open. EDM / House / Trap.

CANCELLED "Lost In Trancelation" has a special show on Sunday night for the Trance family and it features DJ Richard Durand (NL). DJ Suzy Solar (USA) opens. Takes place at Bikkuri Lounge.  Trance.

The Nest in Baldwin Park will be home to "Mixology 3.0" this Sunday night featuring DJ's Scott Riley, Scot Shaprio, David Martin and a special appearance by The Reverend (all USA).  WOW!  Eclectic.

Someone asked me whether Disney Springs had a mosque in it?

To our knowledge, the answer is no.

That's the Anthropologie store. We're not aware of any locations for religious services in the Disney Springs retail district.

Club Reports: Bar B, Independent Bar, Elixir Bar, Gilt Nightclub

A mix of DJ's and Florida Gators fans, Bar B was the place to be last night in downtown O-Town!

Outside on the patio, first time ever seeing DJ Chrystalline Gold (USA) playing!

Inside in the booth, first time ever seeing DJ Six 9 (USA) playing!

Dance floor was empty as everyone was at the bar.

Watching the UF - UM game which was taking place live just a few miles to the west in Camping World Stadium.

DJ Swagkerr (USA) was up next outside.

There was a little bit more dance floor action out here.

Spotted on the patio: Kimberly surrounded by more DJ's than you can shake a stick at: Sisco, Losman, Soul & Phin (all USA).

Spotted in VIP: Emily flanked by DJ FernGotBeats (USA) & Jennifer Marley (USA).

Bar B has taken over as Orlando's home of Old Skool & Breaks and this board shows us that DJ Krafty Kuts (USA) will be here on Friday, September 13th (along with Jimmy Joslin, Tooltime, Rogue Planet) while DJ Sandy (USA) returns on the following Friday!

You know by now if it's at all possible on a Saturday night, I'm going to try to go to Independent Bar!

But with both the Gator game and the Backstreet Boys (USA) concert at Amway Center ending around 11PM, downtown quickly became absolute chaos. The I-Bar dance floor reflected that!

Orlando Weekly readers just voted the Saturday night 80's New Wave Night at I-Bar the city's Best Club Night for the second year in-a-row!  Link.

Saturday nights are always amazing at I-Bar too!

OK, crossing Washington Street and into Elixir Bar.

When I arrived opening DJ Marcio Pantoja (BR/USA) was pumping out the House!

The outdoor patio was packed!

Within minutes of arriving, the headliner ready to take over.....

And the crowd went crazy!

Originally from Serbia, he moved to Australia when he was a teen.

First time seeing him since EDC-Orlando in 2011 (Link) although he did play at Gilt in 2016.

Lots of euphoria on the floor!

Speaking of Gilt, that was my next and final stop.

Place was the most-crowded of all the venues visited last night.

And they were loud too!

He would deliver small short samples of his large catalog of dance hits.

Packed to the rafters!

The requisite shiny disco ball was on full display!

Lots of head-banging Dubsteppy Heavy Bass in his mix too which made the youngsters happy.

A good time was had by all.
