Disney Springs Dogs VS Universal CityWalk Dogs

In this corner, representing Disney and Disney Springs, we have B.B. Wolf's Sausage Company.
At B.B. Wolf's the dogs carry an international flavor with offerings such as the Italian Dog, Greek Dog, Latin Dog, German Dog and the plain (American) dog. The latter is $7.49 while the international dogs run $9.29. Chips are extra.
And in this corner, representing Universal and CityWalk, we have Hot Dog Hall of Fame.
At HDHOF, the dogs carry American regional flavors with actual brand names representing different cities. The Chicago dog is Vienna, the Detroit dog Koegel, the NYC dog Sabrett, the Boston dog Kayem. Prices run $8.99 to $9.99 but include an order of fries.
I call it a draw so please try both and YOU decide!

PI Update: "Late Night" Upgrades

With temps near 80F° and not a cloud in the sky, it was a perfect day yesterday to cross this bridge one more time to beautiful Pleasure Island!
Here to visit the Waterview Stage to check out their new lighting rig. The Blog had previously reported on plans to add permanent lighting to the area.
The Waterview Stage is home to the Late Night Disney Springs DJ dance parties on Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights as well as other musical acts on other nights.
The new fixtures should add greatly to the ambiance at the dance parties!
New spotlights on the corner light poles.
A look at the original "temporary" lighting poles. These have been removed.
Crowds have been packing the Late Night dance parties since they were introduced for Spring Break 2018. Because of the popularity, the parties were extended through the summer and now at least until year-end if not longer! Party hours are on Th/F/Sa nights from 10PM to 1AM.

Club Report: Independent Bar

With Halloween on a Wednesday this year, last night was the de facto night to get in costume and go crazy in downtown Orlando!
Heavy police presence had Orange Avenue and some of the side streets blocked off from traffic which made it easy to walk around and see the sights.
The ratio of costumes to no costumes was about 50:50.
There was plenty of nice scenery!
With some taking things seriously!
Rather than my usual club hopping though, I decided to stay put in my Saturday night favorite, Independent Bar.
Just as it should be, DJ Indie John (USA) in the booth.
The dance floor was already jammed at 11PM.
By midnight it looked like this!
Spotted in the booth: Dana with DJ's The Reverend, Parry, Indie John & Kimball Collins.
Spotted in VIP: Pimp Daddy and Pocahantas
Spotted by the bar: DJ Smilin' Dan (USA) and Kimberly
The music mostly 80's New Wave.
Mixed in with some Halloween classics like "Monster Mash", "Thriller" and "Time Warp".
Lots of clever costumes!
Everywhere downtown last night, a good time was had by all!

Concert Report: DJ Benny Benassi (Celine)

I don't know how they keep doing it but two to four times per week Celine is the place for international touring DJ's to play Orlando! EDITORS NOTE: THIS CONCERT TOOK PLACE THURSDAY NIGHT BUT WAS NOT RECEIVED IN TIME FOR PUBLICATION ON FRIDAY.
First to the rooftop where I did not recognize this guy but he was playing a great House set!
And at this early hour the place was already jumping.
But a constant sprinkle caused many to escape and head inside to the main room downstairs.
DJ Too Heavy Crew (USA) on stage down here!
Normally a DJ duo, this is the second time I've seen "them" as a single "him".
Because of the rain upstairs, it didn't take long for the downstairs to become crowded.
Great set of music!
First time seeing local DJ duo Yokai (USA). Their appearance at midnight meant that Benny wasn't coming on at 12:30AM as I had hoped.
But they played a great House / Tech House set that built momentum as it went on.
And the crowd was getting euphoric!
If not downright giddy, lol!
And then as 1AM arrived, there he was!
DJ Benny Benassi (I)
Only the third time getting to see him, first time at EDC-Orlando in 2011 and then in 2013 at UCF Arena.
So it had been 5 years!
"Benny! Benny! Benny!"
Third song in and already blowing the crowd away with Fisher (AUS) hit "Losing It". The club's speakers and the song's drop made your body literally vibrate inside!
Great sound system; great lighting effects!
Packed to the rafters!
But with me having to work on Friday, I sadly could not stay for the full show.
But it was crazy in there and a good time was had by all!
