Trip Report: Boston, Massachusettes

When you plan a trip in advance you can't know what the weather will be like when you arrive so it was with some sadness that we arrived in Boston this weekend. It was a rainy Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday with the showers ranging from thunderstorms with heavy rain to just drizzle. But it did preclude outdoor activities.
Boston is jammed with American history and the Freedom Trail is a pathway taking pedestrians from one historic location to another. Operated by the National Park Service, one of the stops along the trail is Faneuil Hall.

Nicknamed "The Cradle of Liberty" and "The Home of Free Speech", the building dates back to 1742 and was used for civic discussion as well as protests during the American Revolution.

Quincy Market is adjacent Faneuil Hall but actually dates only to 1826. It is mostly a food hall, with many restaurant stalls to order a variety of cuisine which is then consumed from centrally located shared tables.

There is once central aisle with vendors located on both sides.

Earlier today this woman played electric violin for the diners. The food hall craze that dominates so many American cities including Orlando actually dates back to the early 1800's.
