Club Reports: White Party (Star Princess), Belize & Honduras Port Parties

By now you know that if we’re traveling we like to share entertainment choices in the various cities we're in or the ships we’re on. This week we’re doing a 7-nt cruise in the western Caribbean on the brand new Star Princess

Earlier in the week we posted photos from the ship's Sailaway Party. Today we'll show some other venues on the ship, the ship's White Party and several DJ's in the ports visited so far. We begin at Crooners, located midship on Deck 8.

The art deco designed room features this large bar.

You expect crooners in a bar named Crooners and those vocals were provided by Rob Marx (GB) along with his acoustic guitar.

It's a pretty large room with a pretty large crowd.

All ships nowadays seem to have an English or Irish pub and on Star Princess it's called O'Malley's. It was also on Deck 8 midship.

Lots of dark woods in this venue.

Piano and vocals from Dan Sugimoto (USA).

Seems like we've seen him previously on Royal Caribbean.

On some ships it's called the White Party, on other ships it's the White Hot Party, on other ships it's the White Night Party. Whatever it's titled, the idea is to dress white and on our third night of the cruise, we were back in the ship's "Piazza" for this ship's version featuring the live band Asian Soul (RP).

As soon as the music began, the dance floor began to fill-in, led by the ship's Activity Team.

It was primarily a 70's night with songs such as "Dancing Queen", "Boogie Wonderland" and "September". (The light they use in the atrium always casts a blue tint to photos taken there.)

But we also heard a few more-modern hits such as "Fireball".

The idea of a white party of course is for everyone to wear just white.

Invariably, not everyone gets the memo.

Have to say it was a pretty fun party although we prefer when the music is delivered by a DJ playing the hits instead of a band.

A good time was had by all.

We've visited two ports so far. In Belize City, Belize, we had lunch at D'Bourbon Barrel which is located right on the docks.

Here we found DJ Buju (BZ) playing Top 40 hits such as "Rosanna", "Caribbean Queen" and "My Girl" during our visit.

This woman was enjoying "Stayin' Alive".

The second port was Mahogany Bay, a private area owned by Carnival Cruise Lines located in Roatan, Honduras. Mostly a beach destination, there are several eating and drinking venues including the Hideaway.

Here we found DJ Sambula (HN) playing Top 40.

In the area's shopping village, we found a branch of Fat Tuesday.

DJ Joseph (HN) was on the decks playing Top 40 hits.

As I sipped on my pina colada slurpee daiquiri! Orlando has a Fat Tuesday but it's walk-up drink service only and is located within Universal CityWalk.

We had lunch at Hurricane Hole.

Music by DJ Tigerson (HN).

Fun atmosphere very similar to Senor Frog's restaurants throughout the Caribbean.

You can never go wrong with Go Go girls. Put up a stripper pole and you're sure to attract the females.

Everywhere we've been this trip, a good time was had by all.
