Trip Report: The Only Standard Station in Florida

This past Tuesday we took a quick trip to beautiful downtown West Palm Beach. And while we were in town, we made a quick side trip.
Our destination, the only Standard gas station in Florida. Last month we had an article about how the former Standard Oil Company of California changed their name to Chevron.  But in order to keep their Standard trademarks alive and not have some other oil company claim they were abandoned, they operate one Standard branded station in each state they do business in where they have the legal right to use the Standard name.

In our article last month we had come across the only Standard station in Nevada which is in Las Vegas. Doing some sleuthing, we found out that the only Standard station in Florida is on US 1 in Lake Worth Beach (formerly Lake Worth). So as long as we were in the area, we had to go see it!

Interestingly, the plastic pump toppers at this station had Chevron on them, not Standard. And so did the pumps themselves.

You'd have to zoom-in but most (but not all) of the pump toppers at the Standard station in Nevada had Standard on them.

If you're ever in Palm Beach County, check out the only Standard station in Florida located at 610 S. Dixie Highway in Lake Worth Beach!
