Club Reports: House & Coffee @ Qreate, Rooftop Party @ Celine

We took Saturday night off last night so that we could spend Saturday day visiting a couple day time House music parties. We began in the early morning at Qreate Coffee where the monthly House & Coffee event was already in progress.

Day time parties are all the rage right now and we walked into this.

On the decks when we first arrived, the tail-end of a mostly Afro House set from the legendary DJ Nasty (USA). For years he had DJ'd not only in clubs but also on radio stations such as 102JAMZ and Power95

The club coffee house was packed!

DJ Antonia Rivano (USA) took over moments later.

Each DJ yesterday delivered 45 minute sets which made the time fly by.

And Antonia's House and Latin House set had the dance floor bouncing including a House version of "Baby Got Back".

DJ Chino (USA) announced his arrival next.

He would continue with a mix of House and Latin House.

Chino told everyone they had 4 months to learn Spanish and then played some Bad Bunny (USA), lol.

Joel Sax (USA) on the sax joined in for several tunes including"Pump Up The Jam".

"House" plants.

DJ Rupesh (USA) took over next.

As 1PM approached, it had gotten even more crowded than when we first arrived. House & Coffee is a monthly event and it's free but you have to buy something from the coffee counter. That can be a coffee, pastry, water, anything. The next edition will be on Saturday, November 8th which is EDC weekend. Also, on Saturday, October 25th there will be another daytime House party taking place at City Food Hall in the Ivanhoe Village district. Details and advance tickets HERE.

So much fun and a good time was had by all.

We next headed over to Celine for their 2PM rooftop party. Unfortunately, a threat of rain and some gusty winds moved the event indoors to the Celine main room.

The opening set was from DJ Mimi (USA).

First time seeing her play and her mostly Tech House set was pretty impressive.

Around 3PM the dance floor was still pretty spartan.

At 3:30PM DJ duo Yokai (USA) took over.

Their House and EDM set had the floor bouncing.

And it was filling-in too.

Yokai had played the kineticFIELD main stage at EDC-Orlando in 2022.

Celine has a shiny disco ball so you know the place is legit.

And then at 5PM, there she was! The headliner, DJ Nora En Pure (ZA/CH).

During prior shows we've seen her play she would begin with several House songs before switching it over to the Deep House she's best known for. Yesterday, she went Deep House right from the outset!

The lasers began flying.

Considering it was only 5PM, the club was pretty jammed. Don't know how the rooftop would have been large enough for this many people.

Nora En Pure is based in Zurich. The first time we saw "The Queen of Deep House" play was at Studio Paris in Chicago back in 2015.

Packed to the rafters.

Daytime House parties! Who knew! A good time was had by all.
