Club Reports: The Warehouse, Opulence Nightclub, The Landing (DTSP)

Last night was time for our annual visit to downtown St. Petersburg. The formerly sleepy city now has an impressive yet unexpected dance music scene. We began the evening at a warehouse located at 2626 Emerson Avenue South at this otherwise unmarked door.
Only when you step inside do you find out you're at The Warehouse St. Pete.
We walked into this.
In the booth was famed DJ Jon-E Rotton (USA).

His set a mixture of Breaks and Electro.

Although it was still early, there was already quite a few people here.

But only a few on the dance floor.

We ran into so many people from the Breaks scene.

We spotted Jon-E Rotton outside after his set along with DJ Suspence (USA).

Taking control back inside, DJ James Wolfe (USA).

He would continue with the Breaks vibe of the night.

It got crowded but you just couldn't get anyone onto that dance floor, lol.

Great lighting, great sound. Pretty impressive!

In the downtown core, out next stop was Opulence Nightclub which is located where historic Ringside used to operate.

We arrived to find DJ Christopher Lee (USA) in the booth.

He was playing a great House set.

DJ Georgie Oshiro (USA) would come on next.

House music all night long.

There was only a handful of patrons in the large club. But since the customers were away, the bartenders did play!

We tried to get into Goodnight John Boy but the queue was an hour long so we gave up. Instead we went to rooftop bar The Landing.

Here we found DJ Cuzzin Crook (USA) in the booth.

The music up here was mostly old and new Top 40.

Last night's humidity was intense so we didn't stick around for long. Nonetheless, everywhere we went last night, a good time was had by all.

Thanks for coming out to The WareHouse St Pete! We're primarily known as a late-night House venue, open until 6am every Friday and Saturday night but we also do multi-genre events early like this great Electro & Breaks show. And yes, the dance floor does fill up πŸ™‚

Oh, I'm sure it does. Just couldn't stay later due to multiple stops. Was glad we finally got to visit the place!

Please note, Spencer Thomas is DJ Suspence (US), not DJ Spencer Thomas πŸ™πŸΌ

Update made; thanks. I've been calling him Spencer Thomas for years and he's never corrected me.

Yes sir 😊 to be technical, it’s simply Suspence (without the DJ prefix). He’s one of the few and best local electro artists and producers I’ve followed for a long time πŸ’« Thanks again for updating and for all you do to support the local music scene, KingBob!! πŸŽΆπŸ“Έ
