Club Reports: House & Coffee @ Qreate, Alfie's HiFi, Grumpys Underground, Iron Cow

After a very late night in Sanford on Friday night, we were up bright-eyed and bushy tailed early Saturday morning for the monthly "House & Coffee" event at Qreate Coffee in Orlando's Creative Village.
Last month we arrived at 9:30AM and found this long queue which took close to 2 hours to get inside!

So this time we cleverly arrived closer to 8:00AM and the line was much shorter!
We arrived early enough to catch the tail-end of 7:00AM opener, DJ Shiv (USA).

This event is "House & Coffee" so House music, of course.

The early crowd. There is no charge for attending this event but the requirement is to purchase something, anything, such as a coffee, tea, baked item. The menu is outside before you come in.

This is a regular coffee shop on other days of the week.

The crowd inside was beginning to grow.

Shift change at 8:00AM with DJ Nuans (USA) taking over and delivering an animated House set.

First time seeing him play since he opened EDC-Orlando last November on the kineticFIELD main stage.

WOW! Only 9AM and we're already on our third DJ of the morning! We could have been home sleeping but instead bouncing to House music with some sweet tea!

DJ Cole Stanton (USA) with more of an EDM set.

By now the place was packed!

"House" plants.

We spotted the next set of DJ's coming on.

DJ Eccentra (USA)

DJ Antonia Rivano (USA)

They would play as a DJ duo with each playing a couple songs and then switching.

Capacity reached and no more entries.

The queue outside. When x number of people departed, x number of people could enter. This is why it's imperative to arrive early.

First time seeing them play and it was such a great set.

DJ Chino (USA) cooling the crowd down with some  CO2,

SO much fun!

A good time was had by all. The next "House & Coffee" takes place on Saturday, August 2nd. Doors open at 6:30AM and the DJ's start playing at 7:00AM. Come early, take a nap later. Free tickets HERE.

OK, from Saturday morning to Saturday night and yes, with a nap in between. Orlando's undisputed new hotspot is Alfie's HiFi located in the Mills/50 District.

Even though we arrived before 10:00PM, there was a line outside and we entered the front room to find this crowd at the bar!

And then headed to the back room to find this.

This is where the booth is and we found DJ Ponchartrain (USA) already in progress.

A lot of 70's being played by the NYC-based DJ during our visit. At Alfie's, all the music is off vinyl.

The DJ's typically bring their own records but the club keeps a stash available too.

The crowd skews 20's & 30's, many of them likely seeing those round black things for the first time and being amazed that music can somehow come out of them!

DJ Sleazy McQueen (USA) would also play last night. We understand he's relocating to Spain so last night might have been is final Orlando appearance.

A good time was had by all.

Just two blocks further south from Alfie's HiFi is Grumpys Underground and since we were in the neighborhood, it was our next stop.

DJ Nelly Fre$h (USA) was just concluding his set with DJ Robert (USA) taking over.

The music was fast & furious!

While we often hear Breaks at Grumpys, last night was a Drum & Bass night.

And DnB often needs some narration and that was provided last night by MC King Bread (USA).

Only a few on the dance floor when we first arrived.

Spotted in VIP: Eric & Maureen

Spotted on the dance floor: DJ Fun-D-Mentlz (USA)

Spotted in General Admission: Jasmin

Spotted twirling: Thomas

Spotted on the patio: DJ Gr3ywolf (USA)

NOLA-style DnB last night!

A good time was had by all.

We next headed over to Orlando's Milk District and the Iron Cow where the monthly "Lovestruck" event was taking place.

We walked into this!

With "Lovestruck" resident DJ Nina S (USA) on stage.

House music, of course.

Singing many of the vocals, MC Amanda H (USA).

Dance floor was absolutely packed!

Around 1AM the fog rolled-in and if we didn't know better, we would have thought we were in San Francisco.

"Lovestruck" alternates between Iron Cow and Bikkuri Lounge and the next event is at Bikkuri on Saturday, August 16th. It's so much fun; you shouldn't miss it.

Spotted at the bar: Morgan & Donavan along with DJ Dity (USA) who had played earlier.

Spotted on the dance floor: DJ Dack (USA) and Amelia. When you spot them at an event, you know you're in the right spot.

A good time was had by all.
