Club Reports: Icon Park, The Eye Orlando, Mango's Tropical Cafe

We began our Friday night at Icon Park along International Drive, home to the Orlando Eye, a dozen+ bars & restaurants, a wax museum, an aquarium and soon, home to Blue Man Group.
Out on the lawn we found DJ Gia (USA) playing Top 40 to passersby.
During our visit last month it was too cold to just hang-out there but with an Orlando spring already in progress, it was a great night to run around or just relax.
In a shopping center across from the Orlando Eye is a restaurant/club called The Eye Orlando. One of our readers told us about this place so last night we finally had the chance to check it out.
Here we found DJ K1KO (USA) in the booth overlooking the venue.

The music is Latin and Top 40, remixed to a House beat.

We didn't see a dance floor per se, but those two ladies found a spot to boogie.

Near the entrance, this bar area could be used for dancing too but last night was filled with patrons getting drinks or just chit-chatting.

Our main destination last night was Mango's Tropical Cafe, a venue which shifted a lot of Orlando's nightlife to the International Drive area back in late-2015 when they first opened.

When we first arrived we were greeted inside by Promoter Kyle Myers playing the Door Host roll.

The music had already started.

In the booth, DJ Jerry "The Reverend" Johnson (USA).

He was playing a great House set.

Dance floor was getting occupied.

House music all night long.

We spotted several people from the local dance scene.

A crowd started forming.

Mango's used to have elaborate floor shows every weekend but post-pandemic the crowds just didn't return and it was not feasible to keep running those. But we did get this lighted robot.

And they say you can never go wrong with Go Go girls.

They were right!

A quarter past midnight, there he was, the headliner.....

Superstar DJ Keoki (USA)

We've heard some eclectic sets from Keoki over the years but last night he was pretty much straight House music.

We haven't seen him play since this set at Bar B downtown back in 2019.

Keoki has been around for years but our first encounter with him was in 2015 when he played at Peek Downtown incognito wearing assless chaps!

He had the dance floor bouncing.

Christina was overheard saying, "I'm gonna dance real soon, but first, let me take a selfie."

A lot of people were at the two open bars but the dance floor itself just didn't get that crowded.

Great music by both DJ's and a good time was had by all.
