Downtown Update: Church Street

Church Street this past year has been pretty bleak with the closures of Wahlburgers, Ferg's Depot, Lion's Pride and Ceviche. Still, we detected some rays of hope this past weekend beginning at Studio 27 which had a line to get in. It's located where most recently it was home to Native Social Bar. Back behind Studio 27, look for another venue to open in the spot once home to Sound Bar and then Herman's Loan Office. We can't provide any details but it's going to be spectacularly themed! And upstairs, former office space will become a third venue! Stay tuned.

Cahoots Game Room also had a line to get in. Irish Shannon's was not open but I believe they're still in business. Meanwhile, Chillers and Latitudes don't seem to do anything I've noticed to publicize their businesses and are key to invigorating the street.

Kres Steakhouse was doing brisk business this weekend and has added outdoor dining. We'll keep you updated on what's happening on Church Street.
