They eventually did move the booth to a more spacious spot (barely) next to the front window. |
Vixen wasn't very wide but it did run deep and Jimmy Joslin could bring in the crowds! Sadly, Vixen closed around 2015 and was renovated to become Side Bar. |
He would pack them in here too but sadly Bar B shut down earlier this year due to covid19. |
So now, beginning tomorrow night, a new Jimmy Joslin Friday night residency begins taking place at new club Studio 27. |
Located at 27 W. Church Street just off Orange Avenue, you'll remember the venue most recently as Native Social Bar and before that, Mako's. |
It's been thoroughly renovated and is looking great. This is the front bar and there is another bar aft. |
The bar that was located on this mezzanine was removed and is home to the DJ booth. The old booth upstairs overlooking the dance floor remains too. |
And this wall was home to the large "Be Native" sign previously and now just adjoins the dance floor. Come on out tomorrow and every Friday to support this new night of Breaks and Old Skool, brought to you by DJ AfrodisiaX (USA), a weekly guest DJ and the legend.......DJ Jimmy Joslin! |
