Armed with a $69rt ticket on Frontier, I was off on another journey yesterday, this time to Buffalo. |
Wasn't staying in Buffalo though. After obtaining my rental car, I was quickly crossing the Niagara River via the Peace Bridge to Canada! |
And then following the QEW to Toronto. |
Where I arrived to icy roads under a low ceiling! |
Canada's only contribution to DJ Mag's Top 100 clubs of the world was called The Guvernment and it was located across the street from Lake Ontario. I had seen DJ David Guetta (F) play there in 2011. Link. Sadly, it closed in early 2015 for the real estate development pictured here. |
This massive venue is now called Rebel and it's located on a pier sticking out into Toronto's harbour. When I saw Above & Beyond (GB) here in 2014, the club was called Sound Academy. Link. |
Located in Toronto's Entertainment District (TED), first visit ever last night to Crocodile Rock. |
Wasn't sure what to expect but walked-in to a jammed venue which is more of a restaurant earlier and then turns into a club! |
DJ Tan (CDN) in the booth playing mostly EDM during my visit! He's been the resident DJ here for ten years! |
The DJ booth is upstairs overlooking the dance floor below! |
I had expected the place to be mostly tourists but it did seem to be populated by locals. |
Definitely want to spend more time in here next visit! |
When The Guvernment closed, seems like many of the DJ shows migrated here to Uniun. |
Last night Canadian DJ duo Manzone & Strong would be providing the beats. |
Made up of DJ Fab Strong (CDN). |
Tag-teaming with DJ Joe Manzone (CDN). |
And the dance floor got packed! |
Plenty of VIP booths flank the club. |
Music started out more on the EDM hit side. |
A good time was had by all! (But June in Canada is better than December.)
