PI Update: The Day The President Visited Pleasure Island

He was only expected to give a tourism speech in front of Cinderella's Castle at Disney's Magic Kingdom that day, but President Obama also made an unexpected stop at Pleasure Island in January, 2012, ten years ago this month! The short, impromptu speech was made in front of a surprised crowd and members of the press corp where he stated Pleasure Island dance and comedy clubs should reopened. He was pleading to top Disney management when he exclaimed, "Chairman Iger, tear down this wall!"  He said he wants to see Motion rebuilt, would like to hang out with the Colonel (Adventurers Club) sometime and hopes to take a spin on the revolving dance floor at Mannequins before his second term ends. Sadly, none of that ever came to be.
