As long as I was in SoCal for Labor Day weekend, I decided to take advantage of the proximity of Mexico to pay a visit. Knowing that traffic backs up for miles near the border crossing, I parked about 10 miles away and took the Blue Line of the San Diego Trolley from there to the border. |
The train line ends in San Ysidro, California, where you can walk right into Mexico. Those driving can take hours to cross and most rental car companies won't let you.
