Avalon Nightclub in Hollywood, California first opened as a theater in 1927. |
Located at the corner of Hollywood & Vine, it's directly across the street from the iconic Capitol Records Building. |
The interior is striking. Notice the craftsmanship of the lobby bar. |
And the artistic ceiling. |
And this inside VIP area. A lot of history has taken place in Avalon and DJMag readers recently voted it the #37 club in the world and certainly the top club in L.A. |
Last night it was home to another episode of "In Trance We Trust". |
Opening set from DJ Niko Zografos (USA). |
The early crowd began to populate the sunken dance floor as he played Uplifting Trance. |
I love his DJ logo which can be both a N or a Z depending on how you look at it. |
The club has dozens of spotlights and they were employed early! |
Coming on at 11PM, DJ Kristina Sky (USA). |
Dance floor still had a lot of room. |
But it was building as midnight approached. |
First time seeing Kristina Sky since last November at EDC-Orlando. Link. |
At 12:15AM, things got serious! DJ Menno de Jong (NL). |
His first 30 minutes was heavy on 138-style Trance. |
And the club was officially jammed! |
The Amsterdam-based DJ is a manager for the "In Trance We Trust" brand. |
Dance.......to Trance! |
He had the crowd in a frenzy with Trance classics such as 4 Strings (NL) "Take Me Away", Above & Beyond's (GB) "Thing Called Love" and my favorite Oceanlab's (GB) "Satellite". |
You can never go wrong with Go Go girls! |
Like I said. |
The headliner was Alex M.O.R.P.H.(D) coming on at 1:30AM. |
I last saw M.O.R.P.H. at Bikkuri Lounge this past September. Link. |
Sadly I could not stay any longer because I needed to head to LAX by 7AM. But it was a great show and a good time was had by all! |
