The Whiffenpoof Song

When I was living up in Chicago, local radio station WIND played "The Whiffenpoof Song" every night at 2AM. The station had more than 100 different versions of the song so they only repeated a few times over the course of a year. Many famous singers of that era recorded their own rendition. It was a tradition of the station that ran from the 1940's to around 1980 when the station was sold and it sadly ended.  So today we present one of many versions. Bah, Bah, Bah.  Enjoy...and Happy Friday!

From New Hampshire in the 1960s, I use to listen to rock and roll on Chicago area's WLS - AM, a far-reaching, powerful station for sure.

Awesome! I remember WLS in the 70's. Located at AM 890 on the dial, it's Top 40 Rock format operated on a "clear channel" at night which meant it's signal traveled far.
