Beginning the weekend visiting with friends at The Groove at Universal CityWalk. |
Friday night resident DJ Chino coming at at 11PM. |
Good-sized crowd on hand but not packed. |
If you're looking for "Groove" music staples, this is the place! Opening with "Engine Engine No. 9" followed by "Tootsie Roll" and "I Like Big Butts". |
Can't complain about the predominantly female crowd! |
And you can never go wrong with Go Go girls! |
Did get to hear Trap hit "Turn Down For What" before heading out! |
Heading out for here.....Club 23 downtown. |
The amazing DJ Carlos Mendoza in the 23 booth! |
Club was already jammed upon my arrival! |
Mendoza delivering a pure House music set! |
And at 1AM, Miami's DJ Oscar G taking over! |
Any remaining space on the dance floor was quickly occupied! |
More pure House, a lot with vocals! |
People were dancing in every corner! |
Oscar G is a resident DJ at Club Space in Miami. |
Although ironically both times I've seen him play previously were in Chicago! |
Saw him there in 2011 at Spybar and once last year at The Castle. |
Oscar G's set last night included segments of Latin House too! |
A good time was had by all! |

I was looking forward to going to The Groove on June 10th during my visit from Texas but when we got there Universal's computer system was being updated and many of the establishments were closed. I wanted to patronize The Groove since I take nothing for granted anymore since Disney closed Pleasure Island but we will try again next time. Thanks to Universal though for keeping the clubs going! It is a major factor in why I bought annual passes for Universal this year over Disney. It was THE deciding factor actually.
