The Blog usually runs one or two PI Updates every week but today marks 3 straight days of exciting news from beautiful Pleasure Island! |
Zooming in a bit we can see some of the outer structure pulled-away! |
Upstairs front side facing Celebration Plaza, no visible demolition here.....yet! |
And nothing visible even here from The Waterfront. But we've witnessed how quickly Motion and Rock'n'Roll Beach Club were demolished so we know this won't take long! |
Dropping by Planet Hollywood to see what's up! |
Dining guest Tara, visiting from the UK, making a request for some Springsteen from DJ Tony Z (Atlantic Dance Hall, Le Rouge Wine Bar). |

A new Downtown Disney guide-map is being distributed and shows some of the in-progress changes taking place in preparation for Disney Springs. What’s interesting is most of the buildings on Pleasure Island are removed from the guide map as well as the closed parking lots and closed walkway to the east side of Saratoga Springs. It simply shows grassy areas where the parking lots and buildings (Comedy Warehouse, 8-trax, etc.) are now standing. However the Mannequins building is still in the guide-map, but is not labeled. I hope this is a sign that the building is remaining.
I heard the building is remaining, but the club is not. :(
Yes, someone posted that last night. Mannequins survives but all the other buildings on that side of the main pathway are razed. Thanks.
seams to me disney updates the MAPS when they start to take down buildings so when they are gone they are ready for the new area! so right now Mannequins/8TRAX is not ready to go down YET!?
you know what I just realized? the new maps do not show the NEW bridge that is going in! HMMM???? so there will be a NEW map soon?? and that this is not the last map to come out! SO the Mannequins/8TRAX building still can be gone later! so it is nto safe after all
Mannequins is not safe and yes it could come down later. But if they were going to take it down, now would be the time because they're already working on that side of the pathway.
