Back in the day, all of the buildings on beautiful
Pleasure Island had these historical markers on them. When you entered
Pleasure Island via one of the three bridges, main plaques gave the overall history of the
Island and then these individual plaques gave information about the history of that particular building. This dubious history served to explain why dance and comedy clubs existed in such odd locales. That revolving dance floor inside
Mannequins, for instance,
was there because at one time it served as a turntable used to turn around steam locomotives!
Island renovations over the years resulted in the removal of some of the signs but many still remained as of last August when management decided to kill the clever
Island backstory once-and-for-all and had them all removed. Except they forgot this one! It's still there so see it while you can! It's on prominent display on the side of the
Pleasure Island Administration Building.

Let's hope this posting doesn't cause someone from Disney to run out and have the last one removed. PLEASE, Disney, preserve some of your history in this last and fairly inconspicuous place...
Better yet, retuen the rest of the plaques to their propper place and reopen the Clubs dangit!
