Perhaps those reported nighttime sightings of workers inside just a few months ago were accurate and they were in there removing the last vestiges of The Adventures Club. But if they do tear it down with no plan to replace it, then it would be not only a slap in the face of thousands of AC fans who have been begging to have it reopened, but also a new low in Disney public relations! |

I've yet to hear any "reputable" source say that there is demolition in the future. Not a knock at you King Bob, I know that you are discussing this only because of the delusional ramblings of a certain magical forum member! Highly doubt that demo will be occuring, there would be WAY to much negative press associated with that.
Demolition costs money. And it would leave a fairly gap-toothed water front. I'm still wondering if ANYONE at Disney has any strong feelings about the potential of these buildings and the revenue (and fun for all of us) which they could bring. I suspect Disney will continue to leave these buildings idle until a time when they have more parking available. Citywalk has massive parking garages and Disney may require similar in order to be able to do more substantial things with PI and Downtown Disney. "Build it and they WILL come, but where the heck are they gonna park???"
it would be not only a slap in the face of thousands of AC fans who have been begging to have it reopened, but also a new low in Disney public relations!-------- aren't we WAYYYYY past that point anyway?? If anything they would probably view the demo as a way to shut everybody up about hoping it would come back.
Disney WILL NOT build a parking Garage! well thats what I heard said before
but guess thats not true either!!
Stop letting people stay off resort and park for free and there will be more parking. Hundreds of people park at DTD and take SSR buses to the parks for free everyday.
You mean, I can park at DTD, take Disney buses to the parks, and avoid paying $15 for parking? Kewl! I'll have to start doing that from now on!
There is no direct bus service between Downtown Disney and any of the theme parks. If you're going to park at DTD to save the parking fee then you'd have to take a bus to a Resort and connect to buses headed to the theme park. (or walk, if within walking distance)
And yes, as part of a very large expansion of DTD, a parking garage is coming.
