Club Reports: Winter Park Area

A birthday party brought me to Winter Park Friday evening and the incredible Mark & Lorna lounge act at the Red Fox Lounge. If this seems a bit like the type of show one would have found in a hotel lounge back in the 70's, that's because it is. They've literally been performing this show three nights per week for over 30 years! I don't think the songs have even changed. Check them out on YouTube. You should experience this at least once. It's located in the Best Western Mt. Vernon Inn.

While not in anyway a "club", had to share this really awesome place in downtown Winter Park called The Wine Room. You obtain a large wine glass and a smart card when you come in and put as much money onto the card as you want. Then there are "wine vending machines" throughout the lounge from which you can then purchase wines of your choosing. Some are as cheap as $1.50 all the way up to $7.50+. Very cool place. Background music.




As reported last week, Thursdays are dead at Circa Lounge, also in downtown Winter Park. But Fridays are full and Saturdays packed in this club located above a restaurant of the same name. DJ C-Money (aka DJ Clinton) was serving up a mix of mostly Top 40 along with a bit of Dance, Hip Hop and Latin. Fun place where I'm told Kool & The Gang hang-out a lot.
