ADH Update: Jellyrolls To Reopen This Weekend?

Some of the scuttlebutt on the internet is that Jellyrolls is reopening the week of August 16th but a source at the adjacent Atlantic Dance Hall (which reopened last Friday) told us JR's is reopening this coming weekend. That would mean either Friday, August 13th and/or Saturday, August 14th. We don't really know and the Walt Disney World website has not been updated to reflect either possibility. We know there is pent-up demand for dueling piano sing-alongs so make sure you call before heading out.

 

ADH Update: Opening Hours Clarification

It appears some people were surprised to find out that Atlantic Dance Hall was open last night on a Sunday night. Traditionally, the club was open every night of the week except two, Sundays & Mondays. With the reopening, there are new nights. ADH will be open Thursdays through Sundays. ADH will be closed three nights, Mondays through Wednesdays. It kind of makes sense. They previously missed the night before a Monday holiday. They also missed a lot of people who had Mondays off for whatever reason. Now they can catch those people. Opening hours are 8PM to 1AM.

 

Concert Report: Breaks N Bass (Ace Cafe)

Club Report: Atlantic Dance Hall (Reopening Night)

Yes, Atlantic Dance Hall reopened last night after being closed for more than a year and there was a large crowd on hand. The music was delivered by former Pleasure Island DJ G-Clef (USA). We have photo coverage over on our sister website Orlando Entertainment News here.

ADH Update: Definitely Reopens Tomorrow!

Although several internet sites have reported that Atlantic Dance Hall was reopening this Friday night, there has been some skepticism because the official Walt Disney World website continued to say that the venue was still "Temporarily Unavailable".

So Save Pleasure Island Blog & Orlando Entertainment News went out to Disney's Boardwalk Resort at lunchtime yesterday (Wednesday) to check it out for ourselves. First, the guard at the gate said yes, it's reopening this Friday night!

Second, the sign on the ADH marquee still reads that they're reopening! Lastly, we spoke to a Disney manager attending a meeting inside ADH who confirmed that they are indeed opening this Friday. When we asked about the WDW website not updated to reflect the reopening, he said he did not know that and would try to get it corrected. (Note: It has been updated.) When asked about parking, he confirmed that there are no conventions currently at the resort and ADH guests could park Friday night in their free parking lots and it was not necessary to bus over from Disney Springs.

So there you have it. We're expecting a good-sized group of Pleasure Islanders to be there for the reopening so hope to see you there! Former PI DJ G-Clef (USA) will be delivering the hits!
Atlantic Dance Hall is Disney's only remaining owned & operated dance club and it's located at the end of the boardwalk at Disney's Boardwalk Resort.

EPCOT Update: NYE Party Appears Unlikely

Normally by mid-summer the DJ's who play the NYE dance parties at EPCOT have already received their contracts to perform. Of course the big party was cancelled last year because of covid19 but we were hoping to see it return this coming NYE. We spoke to both of them this weekend and neither has heard anything. This does not mean it won't happen because Disney might be taking a cautious wait & see approach under the circumstances. But with mask rules back in place at the parks, the annual NYE Party seems unlikely to happen. We'll keep you updated. 

Downtown Update: Parliament House Relocation

When Parliament House closed last year, sources told us that they planned to relocate to the closed Ferg's Depot building on Church Street. Apparently that plan fell through because they announced that they are relocating downtown to 29. S. Orange Avenue. From what we can tell, that's the current SAK Comedy Club space at the corner of Pine Street. We'll keep you posted.

DS Update: Schweet Tooth Fix

 

The Walt Disney World website asks, "What's New at Disney Springs?" It then goes on to not mention any new stores, restaurants or even kiosks but these 3 sweet shops! Yes, all three of them opened for business earlier this year. We begin with Gideon's Bakehouse which continues to have lines for the baked goodies wrapped around the old Mannequins building!

Everglazed Donuts also opened early this year. While $5 for a doughnut seems expensive, they're huge donuts! And this is Disney where people want to pay more!

Opening in spring was the M&M store where your favorite melts-in-your-mouth chocolate candy is available in all your favorite team colors, just in time for the football season. So while you're out visiting the Springs including all those amazing restaurants, save some room for those schweets!

PI Update: No DJ Sets At The Edison Just Yet

The Edison has restarted nightly entertainment again at the Pleasure Island venue, but that does NOT include any DJ sets. Resident DJ Mynd (USA) reports that depending on the night, they may have live bands, a top ariealist and/or burlesque dancers back just like before covid19 hit and forced TE to close.
