PI Update: Springs Everywhere!

Today's article is about the current status of the springs of Disney Springs but we'll begin with this Save Pleasure Island Blog SkyCam view of the East Parking Garage. Because nothing gets car park fans more excited than pictures of parking garages!

Until names are announced, we will call this Western Springs.  They end under the No. 4 Bridge where regular water from Village Lake will lead to the lake itself.

Much like The Waterfront used to do, the springs curve around the Island into this area behind 8TRAX that we'll call Central Springs.

Which leads us to Eastern Springs.

Workers were out in force during my visit.

One can see several of the scenic overlooks being built in this area.  Come out to beautiful Pleasure Island and see it all for yourself!  The springs are going to be pretty awesome!

Club Reports: Aero Bar, The Patio, Ono Nightclub,The Attic

The dance floor was unoccupied during my visit.  Rich Rich will have a much larger crowd at The Beacham on Friday and Saturday nights and we'll try to catch up with him again.  He'll have an absolutely packed dance floor at House of Blues on Sunday night!

Just don't get a lot of EDM in this place.  So I be moving on.

Whole reason for being downtown on a Thursday night was The Attic.

DTD Update: Steak & Stores

Recently released concept art for the new STK upscale steakhouse on Pleasure Island shows that it is indeed being built on the edge of the upper section of the Island, just as Comedy Warehouse used to be.  This upper portion faces West End Plaza but there is an entire lower section below.

Construction of the main section whose base is on that lower section of the Island is well under way as seen here from our exclusive Save Pleasure Island Blog SkyCam.

Closer up one can see the construction right now is primarily on the lower section of the Island.

We understand that the lounge in STK will offer DJ music at night just as their New York City location does!

Let's use the SkyCam to show you the latest construction over in the Town Center.

These are some massive retail buildings under way!

We're excited that Japan-based Uniqlo and Spain-based Zara are coming but otherwise we're still waiting for something worthwhile to be a part of the Disney Springs development.

We're hoping that a good time will be had by all!

Breaking News: Is AC Coming Down?

In an unexpected development, Disney may have begun tearing down the Adventurers Club!  We don't have our own pictures yet so there is one here from Theme Park Insider.  We say this is unexpected because previously posted concept art for The Edison showed a building that looked like the AC building but with renovations.

It's possible that they're just gutting the interior while keeping the exterior framing.

It's the last Friday of the month and that means Lost In Trancelation at Bikkuri Lounge. This month's guest DJ's are Suzy Solar (USA), Jase Thirwall (GB) and David Forbes (GB)! Trance.

Pure babeland on Saturday night at Native Social Bar with Tampa's DJ Bella along with our very own DJ Baby Anne (USA)! Old Skool, Breaks, Florida Breaks.

Peek will have Miami DJ's Spinnzinn & Luke Hunter competing for your business along with Renzo Ruiz.  House/Deep House.

Downtown Update

Here's the latest club information from downtown Orlando.  Epic Nightclub has closed.  Home to quite a few big DJ acts brought in by promoters over the past six months, it just didn't draw enough people away from Orange Avenue even though it was just a block off.  It's demise is preceded by Syn Nightclub and Club 57 West.

Long time night club Antigua on Church Street was turned into Don Jefe's Tequila Parlour two years ago and then split into two with Dubliner Irish Social House opening in the western half.

Not saying that they're out of business but they were dark both nights this past weekend.  It was a shame they closed the well-themed Antigua because their Top 40 format always drew crowds.

Let's give this location yet another try!  Prior home to Blue Room, Red Velvet, Blue Room (again), Voyage, Deja Vu, Zen and most recently Liquid, someone is reopening it as Club Ice.

Lastly we were given a look into the stripped former Sound Bar which is becoming yet another hidden downtown "speakeasy". Apparently the success of Hanson's Shoe Repair and Treehouse creates the need for another one and we're told this one will be called Herman's Loan Office.  Cheers!
