Flamingo Crossings Update: It's Finally Here

Flamingo Crossings! It was first announced as a new development on Disney property around the time Pleasure Island was closed in 2008. When we visited in 2012 nothing had been built. When we last visited in 2020, a number of hotels were under construction and Disney was building new high rise apartments for employees.

So yes, finally, a number of hotels are open for business as of a few years ago.

And there's a mini-Target store!

And the very first store announced for Flamingo Crossings was a Walgreens and it's here!

And numerous other shops and fast food restaurants. After nearly 15 years, it's finally here! Come check it out at Exit 8 along TOLL SR429.

DS Update: Retail Comings And Goings

We don't really know who Kendra Scott is or what her store sells, but a Kendra Scott retail store has opened in Disney Springs Town Center. And we're unsure what was here previously.

Immediately next door to Kendra Scott is the new Fabletics store. We're not sure what they sell either. Popup store Rustic Cuff might have occupied this spot or the one above.

Meanwhile, the Ugg store has sadly closed. I never thought a full retail-priced Ugg store made a lot of sense here since numerous stores in regular malls sell the brand and the two main outlet malls also have Ugg outlet stores. I haven't seen any announcement of what's coming here next.

PI Update: St. Patrick's Day On The Island

The biggest St. Patrick's Day celebration on Pleasure Island takes place later this week inside and outside of Raglan Road. There will be Irish bands and Raglan Road's famed Irish dancers beginning on Thursday and running through Sunday. Come early, stay late. Wear green and Éirinn go Brách! The schedule is here.

PI Update: Disney Springs Kids Club

An event called the Disney Springs Kids Club opened for business on January 28th and it's going to be taking place every Saturday at 10:30AM, 11:15AM and 12:00 Noon at the Waterview Stage on Pleasure Island. The fast paced shows will allow kids and their parents to participate in the high energy dance parties.

They've yet to reinstate the weekend evening dance parties but starting this, for kids, is certainly a step in the right direction. We noticed that DJ KD Queen (USA) (pictured above)  of Elite Beats is included in one of the sets. It kind of reminds us of the "Celebrate Tonight" shows they used to run on the Island after the PI clubs closed, but we'll see. Save Pleasure Island Blog will try to get out there one of these Saturdays to check it out!  More details here.
