Downtown Update

Bullitt Bar has been around for as long as the Blog has been covering Orlando's downtown club scene.
Themed surrounding the 1968 action film of the same name, they have this amazing beer cooler inside the club made from the rear of an actual van.
The film starred actor Steve McQueen (USA) and now next door to Bullitt Bar will be this new venue called McQueens. These are the entry doors which will lead upstairs to the new club above Bullitt Bar. And while Bullitt Bar is nearly all Hip Hop, sources say McQueens will feature House music! It's expected to open later this month.

Club Reports: iBar & iCow

iBar is of course Independent Bar and after too many weekends traveling, it was great to be back for Saturday night at one of my favorite clubs!
Just as it should be, DJ Indie John (USA) running the show on a Saturday night!
Dance floor was jammed!
The Saturday night format is 80's New Wave, just as it has been since I first discovered I-Bar after Pleasure Island closed.
Spotted in VIP: Mannequins original DJ Pete Werner (USA) & Renee.
Spotted overlooking the action: Blog-favorite CJ.
It was John's birthday yesterday and everyone wanted to get a picture with him!
Always fun times at Independent Bar!
iCow of course is Iron Cow and it's located over in Orlando's Milk District which is across from the T.G. Lee Dairy on Robinson Street near Bumby Avenue.
Veteran DJ Robby Clark (USA) was on the decks over here!
Originally from Orlando but now based in Seattle, this was my first time actually seeing him play!
Dance floor was jammed here too!
Spotted: Robby's mom was on the dance floor bouncing to the beats!
Spotted on the dance floor: DJ Lola B (USA) who had played earlier.
House music all night long!
Long before I ever moved to Orlando, I'm told Robby owned a record store on Orange Avenue near downtown and DJ's such as Icey and Kimball Collins would buy their music there!
Several of his songs had that Progressive/Kimball/AAHZ sound to them!
A good time was had by all.

Club Reports: Room 22, Bar B, Aero Bar, The Patio

Friday night began at Room 22, a new club concept from V Group that replaces Vintage Lounge.
I didn't recognize the DJ who was playing 100% Hip Hop.
Advertised as a "high energy show bar", it was definitely crazy in there. The bordello reds from Vintage have been removed and the DJ booth has been moved to the rear.
There was plenty of ass-grinding going on!
Those metal bars hanging from the ceiling are used by dancers who dance on the bar Coyote-Ugly style which sadly did not take place during my visit.
Much quieter was Bar B.
DJ Jimmy Joslin (USA) was pumping out the House.
The music was great but just a few people in the club last night. Look out for Magic Mike's birthday party here at Bar B next month when Jimmy Joslin, Magic Mike and Sandy put together a show that will take you back to their old SIN nights at House of Blues!
Now over to one of my favorites, Aero Bar!
DJ Cliff T (USA) on the decks!

The dance floor starting to fill up!
The music EDM!
One hit after another!
Huge new speakers installed adjacent the booth to pump up the bass!
And since you're on the rooftop, you're literally dancing with the stars!
Down the stairs from Aero is The Patio.
DJ duo Parry & Crane (USA) were delivering the hits down here too.
Dance floor was jammed here too!
Spotted by the booth: Mo, DJ Parry and Blog-favorite Renee.
Spotted on the dance floor: Club Photographer Michael Khan.
Music was all Top 40 during my visit. Thank you Dan-e Crane for sparing me, lol.
DJ Parry taking over late.
It was crazy and a good time was had by all.
