Bikkuri Sushi on Colonial Drive is home to Bikkuri Lounge.
If you ignore the flash, you can barely see DJ Lil' B in the booth!
Decent-sized crowd on the floor raving to Psy-Trance!
DJ Suzy Solar explained the difference to me between regular Trance and Psy-Trance but I really couldn't differentiate. It sounded and felt like Trance to me, lol!
Bikkuri is home to these amazing light walls!
DJ Doppler Effect taking over the booth around 11PM.
The dance floor stayed pretty busy!
The music was so good, even a cave man could enjoy it!
Next stop to Peek Downtown for "Ear Theater" night.
Pure unadulterated House music being delivered by DJ Mark Hunt!
Just not a lot of people in the place.
Although the dance floor did have its moments.
Spotted on the floor: Mannequins very own DJ Dave Cannalte (USA) with friend Christa.
No commercial House from this guy, just the good stuff!
The bar staff looking resplendent in black! Nice!
For the second night this weekend, Native Social Bar.
DJ B Random in the booth playing Breaks!
Good crowds at both bars although the dance floor less so.
But it too had its moments!
DJ Funkbaby taking over a little after midnight. I always somehow manage to miss her set so I was surprised when I ran into her at the bar and she told me she was up next!!
Wrong night girl. Twerking is for Friday nights at Native, not Saturday nights!
Spotted on the dance floor: Ken Z.
Spotted in the booth: Promoters Shawn Fenn & Scotty Fraser
Other than Retro Room down on US192, no one is playing 70's Disco since 8TRAX closed so when I found out my subdivision was putting on a 70's party, I knew I had to be there!
First time I had encountered DJ & entertainment duo Blondetourage!
Good crowd on hand in my neighborhood's Town Center!
Lots of people dressed in their 70's finest!
Can't have a 70's party without "YMCA"!
Or a session from Soul Train!
Angela and her sister Natalie make up Blondetourage and they can be found performing at clubs throughout the area!
Grooving to "Saturday Night Fever"!
Disco chicks!
And closing things out with a "Love Train"!
Next stop downtown to Native Social Bar.
DJ Exclusive & DJ C-Money in the booth delivering Hip Hop!
Fine-looking crowd on hand!
Dance floor was not packed like it was the night before for Stanton Warriors (GB) but it wasn't empty either.
If you're looking for Hip Hop on a Friday night, this is the place.
But you know what I prefer so it was upstairs I went to Club 23.
House music being pumped-out by DJ Fangz.
Looking stunning in black!
And then at 11:30PM DJ Nelson Diaz (USA) taking over!
Just not a lot of people in the place.
The music was incredible though and the dance floor was never empty! He played a few Oldies like Deee-Lite's "Groove Is in the Heart" that had been remixed to a House beat.
Nelson Diaz is a resident DJ at Club Space in Miami.
His main squeeze Kelli was the only person who got to kiss the DJ last night!
I am so focused on the various genres of EDM that I am generally clueless when it comes to plain old Top 40 music. A friend recently mentioned Ariana Grande to me. Who? How about Iggy Azalea?Nope, never heard of her either. Demi Lovato? Yes, now that's a name I had heard of before but only because of her prior connections to Disney. But I couldn't name a single song she's ever released. But there's been a growing fuss about her new song released last week, "Cool for the Summer" with it's Katy Perry "kiss a girl" hipness. So I had to give it a listen. Go ahead and take a bite of that cherry. Happy weekend!
