DS Update: Sprinkles Bites The Dust

This was the Sprinkles cupcake store in Disney Springs Town Center while it was under construction in late 2015/early 2016. We wondered at the time how a cupcake store would need this much space.

But when they opened in early 2016, we wondered no more. There were hour-long lines to get in and another queue for those wanting to use the cupcake ATM.

But when we visited in 2023, the lines were gone. And now we've read that the entire Sprinkles chain is shuttering including the store and ATM at Disney Springs. The latter location faced new competition from places like Gideon's Bakehouse, Everglazed Donuts and even Summerhouse. But if the entire chain has closed then it's a nationwide financial problem, not just local. 

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
