Always fun to look back. Night kingdom totally dropped off the radar. I had forgotten about that project.

He's not wrong, it was a traffic flow problem, and the actual solution was to build a bypass and build parking garages...which they did. But they just didn't want to do it originally because they were being greedy and cheap! They could have just built everything in Disney Springs and left PI as it was and the whole traffic problem would have been solved.

Anon at 6:33PM, of course it was about the money. It's ALWAYS about the money.

Zulemara, I think Jim Hill's analysis leaves out that Disney wanted out of the club business and wanted to simply be a landlord collecting rent and percentages of sales.

yeah definitely. Painfully obvious looking at what's actually on the island and the rest of the entire complex. So little is actually run by Disney (although in today's day...that's not necessarily a bad thing). Wish we could have had clubs not run by Disney!

In hindsight, would have been interesting to have put together a company of like-minded individuals and put in a bid to run Mannequins as a club. They would have declined it early-on but I bet after a couple years of it being empty, they might have actually considered it.
