We've read on the internet that the Beatrix restaurant planned for this spot was cancelled yet supposedly Beatrix management says the project is only delayed. You may recall that Bongo's Cuban Cafe was located here but was razed a few years ago to be replaced with a Chicago-based Beatrix "healthier" food restaurant. After groundwork was mostly completed, construction came to a standstill because of the arrival of covid19 in early 2020. But here we are in early 2022 and.....crickets. This is a huge gap in Disney Springs West Side added to the other huge gap because of the NBA Experience debacle. How about a high-end miniature golf course?

I did see that the NBA Experience is about to be home to a new Oculus (Meta) VR thing, completely different than the one housed at Marketplace years ago (and, sadly, not nearly as cool; I own an Oculus, and the game that will be featured there, but there's no reason to go since I can play it at home).
I do find it somewhat amusing that the NBA Experience's temporary replacement is going to be...an arcade.
Thanks, Troy. I saw that too and it will be the subject of tomorrow's Blog article.
