EDC Orlando - Day 1

The day had finally arrived!  The 7th Edition of Electric Daisy Carnival - Orlando.

Rushed right over to the neonGARDEN stage which for Day 1 had been taken over by Dreamstate for a night of Trance!

Was only able to catch the final ten minutes of DJ Kristina Sky (USA).

Located in a much-larger tent than they had last year!

The crowd was just building as DJ Grum (GB) would quickly take over.

With an overcast sky all day and temps in the low 80's, the weather was perfect!

The EDC grounds were expanded this year for the first time to take over this parking lot on the other side of Rio Grande Avenue. It allowed overall capacity to increase from last year's 43,000 cap to at least 50,000.

It would be used for the home of the new circuitGROUNDS stage.

Taken over on Day 1 by Bassrush, it would be the all night home of mostly Heavy Bass music. DJ
René Lavice (CDN) was on stage during my visit doing a DnB set.

Corona Electric Beach was back again this year offering sand.....

Boombox Art Car replaces Smirnoff House as a bonus stage this year. The building is shaped like an 90's era boombox!

It would be the only stage with consistent House music all day as demonstrated here by DJ XTA-C (USA).

Finally, a visit to the kineticFIELD main stage!

It was impressive by day.....wait 'till you see it at night!

Recently-formed DJ trio Brohug (S) on the decks featuring John Dahlbäck playing EDM.

EDC is about the music but it's also about the fun!

And lots of pretty girls! EDC could pocket all the profits but they invest back into the product and every year we've seen the offerings get better and better!

New Jersey was represented!  Indeed, people from all over come to Orlando for Electric Daisy Carnival as it's already turned cold up north and we're told the City of Orlando is easy to work with to put together an event of this magnitude!

Absolutely packed now! Huge Day 1 crowd and it will likely sell out today for Day 2. If you're going, you need to go early!

The lasers came on as Seven Lions (USA) did his quasi-Trance set.

Along with DJ's Tony Z (Walt Disney World) & David Z (Orlando City Lions)!

A good time was had by all! Again, if you're coming today, come early if you don't already have a ticket because numbers are limited and this will sell-out. The lineup today includes Alan Walker (N), Kaskade (USA), Green Velvet (USA), Galantis (S) and closing sets from Zedd (D) and Armin van Buuren (NL)!  It's gonna be amazing!
