PI Update: One Last Hope

As we cross this bridge one more time to Pleasure Island, it's worth noting what's not in this picture at 1AM on a Saturday night:  People. Yes, the restaurants are closed, the shops are closed and there's a smattering of bars still open around the area. But revenue-generating guests are largely gone because there's no real nightlife in Disney Springs.
That's why rumors of some kind of real nightclub coming to Disney Springs here at The Edison or more likely at it's adjacent unnamed neighbor is generating excitement unlike any we've heard of since the Pleasure Island clubs closed nearly 9 years ago!
The packed House of Blues on Saturday night showed the potential for drawing somewhat older, high caliber, free-spending guests by bringing electronic dance music back to Disney Springs. With an opening date late this year, we should be hearing some news soon. It's one last hope.

I thought they announced it was going to be an Italian Restaurant with a speakeasy and rum runner tunnels called Maria and Enzo's. Unless that was just another rumor. A dance club would have been nice there.

Yep - Orlando Weekly reported it late last week. Maria and Enzos.

That's the area underneath the Edison. There's supposedly four areas *at* the Edison; the Edison itself, which is where AC was; the big area next door (which nothing has been announced for); the rum runner's area, which will be Maria and Enzo's; and then supposedly a fourth area we don't know about yet.

Still some hope here.
