Saturday night in the city and planning to visit the V-club trio beginning with Vixen Bar. |
Resident DJ Knightlife was on the controls playing a really great House/Dance mix. |
The small dance floor beneath the booth never had a steady crowd but people coming and going from the club would stop and dance to a song and then move in or head out. |
Decent crowd in the house but I saw a number of patrons in here for one drink and then later saw them upstairs at Vanity. |
We last saw DJ Knightlife this past November at Firestone for "Return of the Kings". Old timers may remember him though from his days at Orlando's famous club Blue Room. |
Moving next door to Vintage Lounge. |
Finding DJ A-Rock (Club 23, Tier Nightclub) on the boards playing Open Format. |
Open Format can quickly deteriorate into a night of Hip Hop but it was all EDM during my visit. |
This was my first visit to Vintage since Dominick Morrison (EPCOT-China NYE) left his long-standing Saturday night shift here. |
Time to move upstairs to new club Vanity because this is where all the people are! |
Saturday night resident DJ Hilton Ferris aka Johnny Quest (180 Grey Goose Lounge) taking turns with..... |
.....DJ Freefall (Vintage, Rok Room, Dragon Room). |
The beautiful club's dance floor was completely jammed! |
Final stop was Suite B Lounge for the Ocala Dance Festival pre-party. |
DJ Somatic was playing a great Progressive House set during my visit. |
It's just that no one was dancing besides the official Go Go girl! |
ODF takes place next month in Ocala with the date to be announced soon. |
Spotted: Another dancer; that makes two. And a good time was had by....both. |

That one picture where the CO2 is coming down on the crowd, he's playing Boneless by Steve Aoki, Chris Lake & Tujamo. :)
Also cool to Freefall using in ear monitors while Dj'ing.
Yes, that was the song and it had a lot of the crowd in a frenzy!
First DJ I ever "noticed" using an in-ear monitor in lieu of headphones was Laidback Luke: http://savepleasureisland.blogspot.com/2012/09/club-report-space-miami.html
I have them but can only use them in situations where I can focus on my beat mixing and not have to worry about talking to peeps or having a conversation. It's too much trouble taking the monitors in and out of your ears.
Yeah, the DJ's in Vanity are in an area where they wouldn't get disturbed by anyone.
Those are the best setups; a proper Dj doesn't need requests and doesn't need to be bothered by anyone. You get in the "zone" and people talking to you and bothering you screw that up. I predict that Freefall will catch on outside of Orlando, eventually. He's a talented dude and it's just a matter of time.
Freefall is one of my favorites. I understand he's played quite a bit up in NYC.
