Cosmic Gate, this Thursday night it's DJ Thomas Gold (D)! Got to see him last September at
EDC-Puerto Rico and he was probably the highlight of the night.

Also on Thursday night over in Tampa at
Amphitheatre, the #16 DJ in the world, Paul van Dyk (D) will be performing many of his hits including songs from his 6th album "Evolution" released last year.

FRIDAY JAN 25
It's January which means EDM on Friday nights at
Vain. This Friday it's New York City DJ Jimmy Ponzio headlining with local DJ Chad Andrew opening. House, Dance & Top 40. ($10)
Lost in Trancelation returns for another year this Friday night at
Bikkuri Lounge on West Colonial Drive. It's all about Trance of course, the line-up this month includes DJ Agni, DJ Robb Blak and
DJ Intrikit.

Soooo...stop using the word Techno? Maybe?
Very few Djs really play Techno so most of the time you're actually referring to House music. Let's just stop using the word Techno.

"Techno" is a term describing a specific type of Electronic Dance Music. It is a distinct style of music just as House, Trance, Breakbeats, etc are distinct types.
But before the term "Electronic Dance Music" came into vogue, the general population just referred to all types of electronically generated music as "techno". Use of the term "techno" in a broad fashion dates back to the 90's. It is in that generic fashion that I use it to describe Orlando as "Techno Town". Orlando was a front runner on the EDM scene back in the 90's.
