It's a Notice of Commencement filed by Walt Disney World Resort with Orange County for the interior build-out of Splitsville. They seem to be serious about finishing the project and opening it in December. Mainly an upscale bowling alley with 30-lanes on two levels and food options such as sushi and gourmet sliders, PI fans are looking forward to the music options that are supposed to be coming as well.
As with all projects at Downtown Disney, the facilities are owned by Disney and are constructed on Disney's behalf, built to the specifications of whoever will be leasing the space which in this case is Splitsville.

Wait - there must be an error - there is absolutely no mention of any clubs reopening in that document!
On another note -- 30 lanes? Is that enough lanes for a place like Downtown Disney? Sounds like we're going to be seeing long waits and high prices "due to high demand." Sheesh... It hasn't even opened yet and already I can see things which may turn out to be disappointing. But maybe they'll have a very cool themed bar or some other things...
I think that's quite a few lanes. But there probably will be waits evenings and on rainy days when people skip the Parks. We're still awaiting details about their bar.
King Bob, the reason I suspect that 30 lanes are not enough is that we have 20 lanes at a similar luxury bowling alley complex in my "non-Disney-resort" city at Latitude 30. It's never enough lanes, especially on weekends when you have to wait hours for lanes to open up while biding your time in the bar or restaurant or arcade. And it's pretty damn expensive - lanes are rented by the hour at a flat rate, no matter how many are bowling, so you better bring a group of 4 to bowl if you're going to play. So I'm thinking that at Downtown Disney, which is currently under-provisioned with nighttime entertainment other than shopping and dining, 30 lanes will be inadequate much of the time. Just a hunch... Let's see if I'm right. But if nothing else, this new venue must have some eye-popping other things to do -- good bars, dining, entertainment, etc. that it can offer. In any case, it's a good addition to Downtown Disney and hopefully will lead the way for more development and lessees. Or - how about this novel idea - opening some dance clubs on Pleasure Island!!!
