The PI club closures were announced exactly 3 months prior to the closing date. About a month later the above-pictured flyer was released and placed in hotel brochure racks along with the normal Disney literature.

I am a former WDW cast member. Since I moved back home to Saint Louis, I would visit Orlando and Disney World 6-8 times a year. I even had an annual pass. Since PI closed, I have been to Orlando a few times, and Disney World once. I ran the WDW Marathon in January 2009, which I booked before the PI closing announcement. While I will be back at WDW to run the Marathon this January w/ the family, and in April for a conference, I can say that WDW and Orlando has lost thousand of dollars from my lack of visits. I did finally return to PI last March when I was in Orlando for the day. I walked around and did the balloon flight to take photos from the sky. I literally vomited (before the balloon ride) when I walked around and saw the current status of PI.
:-( BTW Also from St.L but live here now.....more sigh for PI
T-Rex Café is only the beginning? Wow, I'm staying tuned! Bold, new vision!
I am so sorry to hear you got a pass the that world! SUCKER! they couldnt pay me to go to Disney anymore!
Since Disney closed Pleasure Island's clubs I haven't gone back nor will I go back as long as they stay closed. I used to go several times a year and I always stayed at Disneyworld resort hotels. It may be Disney's right to close Pleasure Island but it's my right to spend my vacation money at other places in protest. I'll bet many other people are doing the same thing.
Disney made record profits this past year so the the lack of revenue from Pleasure Island no doubt gets overlooked by the financial wizards in California.
