Studio 54 To Reopen for "One Night Only" !!
On October 18, next Tuesday night, the world's most famous disco Studio 54 will reopen in its original location for one night only. Decades after the opening of one of the most celebrated discos in the world, SiriusXM Satellite Radio reunites with members of the original team that worked behind the scenes at the club during its 1977-1981 heyday. They will re-create what will be billed as One Night Only of the iconic ‘70s nightlife glamour inside the famed Studio 54 at 254 West 54th Street in NYC. Save Pleasure Island has scored passes to this highly coveted event and weather-permitting, the Blog will be providing full coverage.

I remember that club when I lived in New York. Its an amazing club. If they open that club for one night, its going to be "PACKED". There are too many fun memories in that club. Studio 54 was the club of all clubs. Hands down.
I disagree... Studio 54 was good, but Mannequins was the "club of all clubs"... Hands Down! :-)
will it take Disney that long to reopen Mannequins? LOL
It's hard to compare the two clubs because Studio 54 was built with 1970's technology while Mannequins was built with 1980's technology followed by upgrades. The stuff available today could easily blow away either club. Still, it's that revolving dance floor that helped Mannequins achieve its fame!
And yet Disney tossed it all away like yesterday's garbage.
Imagine the killing they'd make if they reopened MDP for "one night only"?
(Of course, 'one night only' would end up happening every month when they realized people will pay a premium ticket price and buy alcohol when they offer something elusive)
Have fun, Bob!!
I agree with you Kingbob. I was the first Anon. I loved Mannequins also. It was the only place I would go to party. But there were different types of partying going on at Studio 54 in NY, that Disney would disapprove of. Both clubs share a phenominal part in my life. Keep in mind, Studio 54 goes back into the 70's when I was much younger and starting to get out more. Mannequines was built in another decade. Both were AMAZING!!!!!
