CLICK ON PHOTOS TO ENLARGE I've been meaning to get back out to PI to photograph the finished construction outside Mannequins. I haven't made it but fortunately one of our loyal readers e-mailed me the fourth picture in the progression above. I think they did kind of a crappy job; anyone can see there used to be a door up there. The point of removing it.....don't know.....yet.

what an awful Job Disney you can see where the Patch is and where they painted the small part of the "repair" and around it
Whoever is moving into that location didn't want that door there. Have to assume the upper levels are going to be dismantled which means a fire escape door was no longer needed.
They still have two exit doors on the 2nd level: One near the 2nd floor restrooms, and another on the remaining fire escape to the left. I'd assume the removed 3rd door was required by fire code to allow a large number of patrons to exit the 2nd floor (e.g. a night club). The new tenant will either not use the 2nd floor, or they expect the amount of people of the 2nd floor to be minimal.
as a note, I peeked in Mannequins last night. The mannequins are surprisingly still on the wall. The work light down by the lower entrance was on and I could still see things down there. I also saw the railing where you got off by the bar and could clearly see the dance floor is still there. They also had some white substance on the floor by the bathrooms by the smoking exit. I'm assuming it was to soak up the water that had been accumulating.
Zulemara is officially declaring that the dance floor in Mannequins is still there! I guess those that doubt need to peek in the upstairs doors and look for themselves.
the floor in Mannequins is still there I have heard that before! if he can peak in and see it try to get a pic??? even if you see a floor that doesn't mean that it is the floor wee all know and loved disney could have replaced it with a non moving floor> and I could make up a bunch of bull and say whatevr i want and i saw them take it out and put it on a truck. that's funny that he could see in nobody else has gotting that close to looking in. just lucky I geuss? I don't care if the floor is gone or not I don't like someone to say this or that about....... and to be the ONE who has seen it. and if you think about it when and if someone wants to rent the old Mannequins I don't see anyone wanting to have a spinning floor? it would cost to much to use it (unless they want make to costumers over pay for stuff)
I just thought of this!!! from the back door you can not see the dance floor! you can just see the stairs going up you can see to the doors in the club going to the stairs go look for yourself Bob and ge back with and tell us what if I have to I will go and look and get the pics myself
I have looked in and cannot see the floor but I do believe that if the downstairs lights are on and it is dark outdoors, it may be possible to see through the stair railings and see the floor. And that is what Zulemara is saying. And since he is one of my roving reporters and has provided lots of viable tips, I believe him.
there are double doors then the stairs the stairs that go own are closer to the wall on the left side (looking at the stairs from the back door). there is no way even if the lights are on the olne thing you could see is the other side of the upper floor. go and try and look for your self.if you where inside the club looking in the 2 doors it would be still hard to see the floor because of the stairs going up! and some of the other things he said he saw that would not be possable from the back door.
I think one of the mannequins on the second story railing was removed and that provided additional visibility. The light was on down by the lower door and I took a long, hard look and I swear to you I saw the railing and behind the railing I saw the floor. I have a source who has access to the club and he was going to go in there, but I haven't seen him around lately. I'll be sure to ask the next time I see him
from that angle you CAN NOT see the floor! if your person can get in i would love to see the pic of the floor! if it there or not? if you can get in cell phones have a camrea on them now ah days! if he can get in he can get the pic! and all of this will end about the floor!
if I can see the lower entrance by the 1st floor bar and I can see the railing where you put your drinks as you stumble off the floor, then why wouldn't I be able to see the floor? Angle is everything
there are only a handful of people with access to the clubs. Do you really think he's gonna take a picture on a cell phone and put it on the internet? Don't be stupid.
you are right angle is everything! so your telling me that when looking thru back glass doors (about 5 feet away) as you look thru the double doors (and then 5 feet more) the stairs go up and the line of sight goes up you can see down? to see what your claiming you would have to be standing on a 6 foot ladder inside the club (by the restrooms) to see what you said you can see (you would have to be inside) now you are saying you can see the lower entrance? all he/she has to do is send you the pic and you can put it on here for him/her! Disney would never know who did it?
no I'm not 5 feet from the doors, I duck the chain and glue my face to the door. Good lord. The line of sight does not go up it goes down. What part of I can see the light, some junk, and the damn railing by the lower entrance do you not understand? Maybe you just don't have the balls to go over the chain, but I do and damnit I'm not lying about this!
Gentlemen, please calm down. Until someone produces a photo WITH the dance floor in it or produces a photo WITHOUT the dance floor in it, neither of you win. I've checked by sources up in Massachusetts and no club is advertising a revolving dance floor of any kind. And that would be something that gets advertised even if Disney is never mentioned. So neither of you win yet both of you have the same obligation to PROVE your position.
zulemara I didn't say you where 5 feet from the outside door. I was trying to say looking at (face pressed on the glass) the glass doors you have 5 feet until the inside doors and then about 5 feet to the stairs. I not saying your lying just am stating facts! and like i said yet again I want to see pics that's all. Bob I am not trying to win. I not the one calling people stupid or cursing. and or getting upset about this. if the floor is there great if it's not there great so what.
Until someone can get inside and confirm things one way or another, we don't know what's inside. Something is coming to that space; that door was removed for a reason. It's quite likely whatever comes will not need a revolving dance floor.
what door was removed? I am talking about the glass doors on the side (back door) and then there where (was) two doors just inside before the stairs so they could close them to keep people from going into the upstairs restroom when they closed down for the night. is that the door you are talking about?
No, I'm back talking about the 2nd floor fire escape door which was also used "back in the day" as the club entrance. That door was removed supposedly at the request of whoever is moving into that space. (Nothing to do with the doors you're referring to.)

if not someone else get pics so we can all see the back door issue!
