Breaking News: Adult DJ Dance Party Coming To The Island!

Multiple sources down on the Island have informed Save Pleasure Island Blog that an Adult DJ Dance Party is coming to the Island beginning March 1st.  Taking place at the Waterview Stage on Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights, the adult dance parties will run from 10:00PM to 1:45AM on those nights! We're told that these will run at least through the Spring Break weeks but could be extended to permanent if successful.
At this juncture we have no information about which DJ's will be spinning but from what we've garnered, the music could mostly be EDM. The goal is to get adults to come and party at Disney Springs later into the night when the stores have closed and the restaurants are winding down. This is something the Blog has advocated for the nearly 10 years since the clubs closed. Portable bars will be brought into the area to support the event.
The adult parties will be preceded from 6PM to 10PM by the Family DJ dance parties now taking place at the Water Fountain Stage near Earl of Sandwich. The Family parties will continue nightly whereas the new Adult Dance Party will be just 3x/week.
If you want to go partying on Pleasure Island once again, we must support this! We'll update you once we get more information and of course the Blog will provide full coverage!

There's been no announcement about this is it true?

I hope it crashes and burns.

After what they did to PI, all in the name of "Improvements" and NOW as that fails it's "oh gee.. well, yea.. DJ's!"

Nope, sorry and nope. Not going to attend and spend any money on this.

This is a great idea. I wonder if they see so many adults going into the Edison late at night and think they're missing out.

I have no confirmation other than Blog sources. We'll see if Disney makes an announcement about it, perhaps on the Disney Parks Blog.

Not sure why people would hold a grudge about them closing the clubs. Of course I think it was a mistake and the lack of anything happening for 7-8 years was a huge error. But it was their business decision and theirs to make. We're now 10 years later, things evolve and now they may be testing the waters.

Yeah, The Edison could have something to do with it. I've only been once so far but I'm hearing they're drawing some crowds late at night, something lacking otherwise around Disney Springs.

"Not sure why people would hold a grudge"

well from my point of view when Disney at the time closed the clubs they said WE do NOT care about you! we want "family friendly" some of us wanted adult time away from the kids. Disney took that away! not all of us like downtown or citywalk. after the years of going out to PI clubs and spending money they said Forget you.

now they want some of that back

IF Disney was to close (i know it will never) I would go out and PARTY HEARTY MARTY!

and even if they was to open a new version OF PI I would not go! never the same I just wish City walk would have stepped up and made the clubs they have better! but....

It won't work. It's outside, not the same as a club atmosphere. You might walk by and stop for a drink, but once anybody dances any kind of vulgar, Disney will put a stop to it. It will be in a uncontrolled environment where anybody, including children can see it. It won't work

Yes, definitely not the same as a club. We'll just have to see if it will be successful. The music won't be Hip Hop which is what typically leads to the grinding/dirty dancing. EDM, if that's what it turns out to be, is not conducive to that. It has to differ from what they play at Atlantic Dance Hall otherwise it's pointless.

There is currently a DJ and Band Thur-Fri at the Edison (old Adventure's Club)... Although it is thematic (electro-swing) early in the night the DJ does play full range of top 40 and Oldshool hits to dance to until close. A fun party for sure! AND starting this week Morimoto's (old Mannequin Dance Palace) now has DJs playing House Music and Asian World Beats for a sexy, sophisticated cocktail lounge experience. Very cool, and hopefully they will allow the energy to grow as the crowd does. Check it out!
