Beautiful Pleasure Island is still here and you can still visit! We've previously posted how the new demolition wall begins on the No. 4 Bridge from Downtown Disney West Side. |
And we've previously posted the wall coming up past Comedy Warehouse and ending at Laffers Cantina. Both are slated for demolition. |
A couple weeks ago we showed you the wall being extended even further, past the recently relocated Curl by Sammy Duval store and the long-closed 8TRAX dance club. |
At the Hub, the wall wraps around the now-closed Apricot Lane store and PI Live Bar! |
And from this angle Mannequins looks doomed! |
But thank God, no! The wall ends where our favorite club begins. |

Waling down through there, it looks like a queue to some perilous ride - minus the interactive technology along the way. Paradiso could be considered interactive I suppose.....
It's definitely a long and narrow path, Jeff!
According to the (admittedly limited and vague) news about the Disney Springs expansion in the Downtown Disney Tell-A-Cast, they're calling the barriers "construction barriers" and are renovating the buildings on the south side of Hill Street along with the small utilidor under the hill. So far, nothing seems to be coming down... looks like they might just be remodeling.
According to WDWMAgic, seems like Comedy Warehouse is coming down!
The blog already posted on that last week.
Sean, we've always wondered if a utilidor existed that ran from the cast area under Celebration/West End Plaza, under the Lombard Street area, under Curl and into 8TRAX/Mannequins.
Comedy Warehouse and Laffers are coming down but we're sure hoping the other buildings "south" of Hill Street are merely renovated.
On the downside, the current DTD map shows the Comedy Warehouse, Curl and 8-TRAXX buildings as "seed and mulch". :( On the upside, the map shows Mannequins, Soundstage and The Adventurers Club are surviving! Kungaloosh! :)
Anon, thanks for sharing. Quite interesting. Historically we've seen the DTD Guidemaps publish information not released yet. That's how we knew Celebrate Tonight was being shuttered.
The map certainly does support that the 8TRAX, CW & buildings are going to be razed. That is also a good sign for MDP. As for the other side of the aisle, Soundstage might remain for awhile longer but I think it's coming down, just later. The AC building shows up in the concept art so it might truly remain in some form.
If Mannequins survives, that would be amazing!!
Don't think it's going to happen though.
