Club Reports: Atlantic Dance Hall, Spacebar

Overdue for a visit to the massive Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney's Boardwalk Resort.

Back to having a no cover charge policy, ADH is open nightly except Sunday/Monday.

DJ Willie in the booth which on weekends is now up on the stage!

You can see him up there in the upper right corner.  What hasn't changed is the music format of Top 40, Hip Hop & Latin video hits.

And what hasn't changed is the fact that the massive dance floor can look relatively empty, even when there's a lot of people on it!

Of course we remember DJ Willie from 8TRAX & Celebrate Tonight at Pleasure Island, Stitch's Club 626 Dance Party at Magic Kingdom and even The Groove & Red Coconut Club at CityWalk! And speaking of Pleasure Island, rumors have returned about ADH offering a Pleasure Island night here every week!  We'll keep you updated when we hear more!

Atlantic Dance Hall is the only club in town that we're aware of where patrons can routinely be spotted wearing Disney attire!

And bachelorette parties are popular here too!

Club Report: Club Space (Miami)

Wow, twice in three weeks!  Club Space in Miami for Trance!

The club's upstairs Loft room did not open until 1:30AM but it quickly filled!

DJ Luccio (USA) in the booth early!

Luccio opened for Markus Schultz (D) in Orlando last year at Gilt.

The reason for the visit!  DJ John O'Callaghan (IRL) taking over!

No soft beginnings; he went straight into loud & powerful!

The "Main Room" was playing Hip Hop, the "Terrace" EDM.  But the "Loft" this morning was reserved for Trance!

John O'Callaghan is part of Armin van Buuren's Armada Music label.

They used to play some of his music at Mannequins!

Glow sticks are making a comeback!

Miami Trance Addicts!

Spotted by the booth: DJ's Li'l B & Suzy Solar (USA). Suzy would be coming on at 4AM which sadly was too late for me since I had the long drive back.  Don't forget her Lost in Trancelation  show at Bikkuri Lounge in Orlando with DJ Adam Ellis (GB) on April 29th!

I didn't recognize any of his songs but they were all true Trance!

Concert Report: The Chainsmokers (CFE Arena)

Spent my Thursday night at CFE Arena on the campus of the University of Central Florida.

Arrived at 9PM to find headlining DJ duo The Chainsmokers (USA) already on stage!

And the arena was packed!

The duo became well-known following the success of their 2014 hit "Selfie".

Most of the show was the expected Electrohouse / EDM songs of theirs and others.

But the mostly UCF student crowd was really into the Bass!

Packed in all directions!

This was my first visit to CFE Arena since DJ Benny Benassi (I) played here in late 2013.

While mostly EDM, their set also included plenty of Trap and Dubstep.

No one uses lighters anymore.

Near the end, Dance singer Daya (USA) came on!

She provides the vocals to current Chainsmokers Trap hit "Don't Let Me Down"!

Daya is from Pennsylvania.

Great show at UCF!

A good time was had by all!
