Concert Report: DJ Chris Lake (Elixir Orlando)

Elixir Bar was the place to be last night!  First time visiting Elixir since seeing DJ Sonny Fodera (AUS) playing here back in March!
Arrived around 11:30PM to find DJ Dombresky (USA) in the booth.
The outdoor courtyard where DJ's play was absolutely packed!
Great House set from this San Francisco-based DJ as the evening's headliner looked on from the rear.
And then taking over promptly at 12:30AM.....
DJ Chris Lake (GB)
And the crowd went wild!
It was a much younger crowd than I expected considering the number of years Chris Lake has been producing music.
Spotted bartending on the right: Barbie from Bar B.
Spotted in VIP: Elixir resident DJ Dose with Jaime Anne, Sina & Samantha.
Spotted on the dance floor: DJ Sandra Cruz, Jen & Stacey.
The peeps want House music! Pretty sure this was a sell out!
Early in his set, his 2016/2017 megahit "Operator"!
Chris Lake played at EDC-Orlando last year but the first time I ever saw him play was at the very first EDC-Orlando in 2011. (Picture)
Packed last night as far as the eye could see!
Elixir has an indoor bar but their big DJ events take place outside here on the patio. And the weather last night was perfect for something like this!
"Moving up and down side to side like a roller coaster!" Playing unpublished Fisher (GB) song, "Stop It".
A good time was had by all!

Club Reports: Oliv Bar, Elixir Bar, Iron Cow

Saturday night in the city and we began the night at Oliv Bar located in Orlando's Uptown district.

It's the little club with the big club inside. We walked into this. It was before 10PM so just a few people here this early.

In the booth, DJ Cory Meyer (USA) playing House. Some of his selections had a bit of Industrial vibe to them.

No one dancing just yet.

Oliv has a full liquor bar with very reasonable prices.

Spotted at the bar: DJ Ms. MF (USA) who would play later along with DJ Kris Kokopelli (USA) who had played earlier.

Spotted in VIP: DJ Nelly Fre$h (USA) with Joy.

Nelly Fre$h would come on next at 10PM.

His sets are always interesting because like last night, 70's Rock, 70's Disco, 60's Soul tunes but all remixed to a House beat.

Closer to 11PM, DJ Celestial (USA) about to begin a House and Techno set but sadly, we had to be moving on.

To downtown Orlando and Blog-favorite Elixir Bar.

The action takes place outside on their famous dance patio and we walked out to this.

The opener was still playing when we first arrived: DJ Morerocking (MA/USA).

We're told his DJ name plays homage to his country of origin in Morocco.

His mostly nonvocal House set had the crowd bouncing.

And as midnight approached, it was getting jammed down there.

Spotted on the dance floor.

Spotted in VIP.

And then at midnight, there they were! Last night's headliners, DJ duo Murphy's Law (GB).

They are actually brothers too and would continue with a House music set. Near the beginning, an interesting House remix of old Santana (USA) hit "Evil Ways", wow!

Party in VIP!

Dance floor was packed!

House music all night long.

Elixir is home to official EDC after-parties this coming weekend. On Friday, DJ Kettama (IRL) will be playing here. On Saturday, Elixir goes Dubstep with DJ duo BARELY ALIVE (USA) and on Sunday night, the stunning DJ Korolova (UA). Get your tickets HERE now because they are all expected to sell out.

Speaking of stunning, when we came outside of Elixir we ran into Tori in the queue. We know her of course from Arena Art Bar and B Nice Patio Bar fame. She tells us she has a new venture in the works that will be announced soon.

One more stop, this one in Orlando's Milk District at the Iron Cow.

We walked into this.

Two legends! DJ Andy Hughes (USA) had just taken over from DJ Lee Coombs (GB/USA).

They had also both played together at the "Old Men DJ's" show in July, 2024 at Arena Art Bar as shown in this Blog archives photo.

His set last night was mostly Breaks and Old School.

Formerly from Orlando, Andy Hughes is now based in Dallas.

Club wasn't crowded last night but hardly empty either.

So many Classic Dance songs in his mix.

We ran into so many peeps and DJ's from the scene. Some were new but most we knew.

Thanks everyone for your poses.

Much of the music off those round black things called "records" by most of us but called "vinyl" by those in the business.

Everywhere we went last night, a good time was had by all.
