Disney Springs International

When Disney Springs was being developed there were a lot of rumors about stores coming there.  Many of the names floating around were international retailers with little or no other presence in the United States.  As I was wandering around Munich last weekend, I noted a number of fast fashion stores that did not end up in the Springs.  Like Sweden-based H&M.  They have stores at Florida Mall, Mall at Millenia and Altamonte Mall but a DS store would have been a coup for that end of town.
Germany-based Pimkie has no presence in the United States and also offers cheap throw-away fashion.
It's related to retailer Orsay which also has no stores in North America.
Spain-based Mango did not end up in the Springs either.  It was never on the rumor list that I can recall but sister company Bershka was and it did not end up coming either.  Mango's only area store is in the main terminal, Orlando International Airport.
Spain-based Desigual has a store in the Florida Mall but not at Disney Springs.
International retailers that did end up with stores in Disney Springs include Spain-based Zara, UK-based Superdry, Brazil-based Melissa Shoes and Japan-based Uniqlo. The latter was likely their biggest coup given the brand has no other stores south of Washington DC. The biggest disappointment, at least from names on the rumor board, was that Disney Springs did not end up with a location of London-based Topshop / Topman. That would have been huge!
