We didn't know what to expect but we opened the door to find this!
We were able to catch the last ten minutes of a set from DJ Cru-Dawg (USA).
Although this was an evening of mostly Breaks, Cru-Dawg was definitely in the EDC spirit by including some Dubstep/Heavy Bass in his set.
The dance floor went from this.....
.....to this!
Up next at 10PM, DJ duo The Flintstonerz (USA).
Made up of DJ J-ROK (USA) and DJ Spark-D (USA).
Their set included a lot of Old Skool Breaks too.
Oliv Bar takes place in this tall but narrow venue. Although you might expect the sound to bounce around all over the place, it surprisingly exceeds those expectations.
Oliv has a full liquor bar with very reasonable prices.
Spotted on the dance floor: New Orleans-based DJ Kidd (USA) and DJ KK (USA). KK had played in the 8PM time slot earlier before we arrived.
We ran into so many peeps from the area music scene. Some were new but most we knew.
At 11PM, DJ Losman (USA) taking control.
His set was all over the place, but in a good way. Breaks of course, a bit of Electro, Old Skool, Bass House, Trap and more. Even some Snoop Dog (USA) remixes. It had it all.
Those looks you get from great Breaks!
Dance floor was packed.
More peeps!
Spark-D operates worldwide under the Spark-D name, except in Brevard County where he has to play under the D-Spark name. Perhaps there are copyright reasons but only Thomas Toole knows for sure.
Near the end of Losman's set, DJ Pulse (USA) doin' some scratchin' for us.
And then these two guys would close out the night.
First, the heir to the vast Ace Hardware empire, DJ Tooltime (USA).
We heard some John Summit (USA), we heard some Fallon (USA), we heard some DJ Icey (USA), we heard some Gotye (B/AUS).
DJ had the club bouncing.
Close to 1AM and no one leaving just yet.
What a great way to kick off EDC weekend. Even if you're not attending the festival, there are SO MANY other options to choose from. We posted many of them this past Monday. LINK
The final set at 1AM from DJ Braindusted (USA).
He began with some Bass and Breaks but sadly we needed to depart due to early morning commitments today.
But a good time was had by.....
ALL!
