Club Reports: New Caledonia, Vanuatu, White Hot Night Party (Carnival Encounter)

By now you know that if we’re traveling we like to share entertainment choices in the various cities or ships we’re on. We're currently traveling on Carnival Encounter in the south Pacific. We're headed back to Brisbane with the cruise sadly ending tomorrow. We had visited two stops in New Caledonia (Noumea & Lifou) and one stop in Vanuatu (Espiritu Santo).

Photo op in New Caledonia. The Pacific islands have three major ethnic groups such as the Polynesians of Hawaii, Tahiti, Samoa and New Zealand, the Micronesians of Guam, Saipan and the Marshall Islands and the Melanesians of New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea.

In Lifou we had spotted DJ Francky (F-NC) in the improvised booth playing Kanak.

In Luganville, Vanuatu, another photo op with the locals.

The best place in town to get an ice cold Tusker Beer, Club de Sanma.

Out on the patio, live band Mango Vibz (VU) were playing Bob Marley (JA) and Elvis (USA).

Back on the ship, the atrium is called The Lobby and last night it was home to a cruise tradition which on this ship is called the "White Hot Night Party".

Cruise Director George (GB) and his Fun Team members directed the show. It was kind of an unusual White party that we've not witnessed previously with the audience divided into two with each side earning points through various skits or loudness or dancing.

There were cruise ship classics such as "Fireball", "YMCA" and "Mr. Brightside".

There were also songs we've never heard previously on cruise ships such as "The Fresh Prince of Belair", "Proud Mary" and "Killing Me Softly With His Song".

The idea of a white party is to wear white. Invariably at every party, not everyone got the memo.

While Carnival calls this the White Hot Night Party, NCL calls it the White Hot Party or White Hot Glow Party, MSC simply calls it the White Party and Celestyal calls it the White Dance Party.

No matter what you call it, another fun party and a good time was had by all.
