That happened this month when Frontier Airlines offered the trip for $19 each way! So yesterday we took the trip for fried chicken!
Downtown New Orleans looking south towards the Mississippi River with mild temperatures in the low 60's.
Street cars still run along Canal Street.
With an early morning arrival, the first stop of course was Café du Monde!

For hot beignets and hot chocolate!
Lunch time arrived a few hours later and it was time for Willie's Chicken Shack!
With numerous locations around the French Quarter, you're never too far from a Willie's!
How was it? Meh. It was ok; not bad. But not worth a trip specifically to get it.
So what to do to kill some time in New Orleans? Bourbon Street, of course!
The first stop the Courtyard Bar at Café Beignet.
Home to numerous statutes of famous musicians.
Live band "Steamboat Willie" was playing Dixieland Jazz.
My group enjoying some frosty cold ones at the bar!
One of the few locations with live music in the afternoon.
Bourbon Street was still torn up with construction.
A visit to Bourbon Bandstand was next.
Live band "Doc Lovett's Louisiana Remedy" was playing Rock and Pop hits.
They were actually pretty good but when they didn't know any Calvin Harris tunes, I knew it was time to leave!

It was a quick day trip but that's how I roll. A good time was had by all!
