Concert Report: Electric Daisy Carnival Orlando - Day 1

From the plane to the festival, arriving around 6pm last night for EDC - Orlando!
Tutu's are the fashion of choice again this year!
Oh wow!  The Electric Cathedral stage from EDC - Las Vegas is incredible and serves as the main kineticFIELD main stage this year. It's located over in McCracken Field.
Arrived to find DJ duo Yellow Claw (NL) on stage with their loud MC bantering with the audience. Playing megahit "Shotgun" when I first got there.
Seemed more crowded than last year!
Lollipop girls were on hand!
Over in Tinker Field, the circuitGROUNDS stage only got one visit from me last night and found DJ duo Dirtyphonics (F) playing.
Huge crowd over here too going crazy!
This stage was home to Dubstep and Drum & Bass all night and held little interest to me compared to the competition.
EDC is an electric carnival indeed!
Back at the mainstage, a return EDC-Orlando visit from DJ Cedric Gervais (F/USA)!
His remix hit "Summertime Sadness" (ft Lana Del Rey) had the crowd singing!
Small selection of the attire worn out last night!
First visit over to the neonGARDEN stage, last night's home to mostly Trance.  Found DJ duo Myon & Shane 54 (H) on the boards here!
Quickly followed by the quite enthusiastic DJ Orjan Nilsen (N).
He did play the expected Trance but also mixed in Electrohouse hits.
Spotted in the crowd: DJ's Evo, Freegor, Robb Blak
Spotted in the crowd: DJ Smooth (Universal CityWalk, RadioDanz.com)
Spotted in the crowd: DJ J-13 with friend.
Spotted in the crowd: Alexi of the EDC film crew.
Back in the neonGARDEN, DJ duo Cosmic Gate (D) with a mostly Trance set.
Lasers filled the air for this packed crowd!
Really happy to have the younger crowd embracing the resurgent Trance scene!
Made it back to the main stage to see the last portion of W&W's (NL) set including "Lift Off"!
Taking some selfies, it was truly a daisy carnival!
Coming on at 10pm, DJ Dash Berlin (NL).
This stage had the graphics, videos, waterfalls, fireworks....and the confetti explosions!
The scene repeating itself with 90's style ravers!
Dash Berlin turning over the stage to final main stage act Alesso (S).
He would play current hit "Heroes" and closer to midnight, his hit with One Republic "If I Lose Myself".
If you can't come out tonight, many sets are available live on Sirius/XM 52 Electric Area.  But you should come out!  Tonight includes Above & Beyond, Steve Angello of Swedish House Mafia, Thomas Gold, Tritonal and many more!
A good time was had by all!

  1. I had a press pass to do the Yellow Claw interview and I ran into a friend of mine from the Bliss days that Bob also knows. He told me that next year's EDC will be completely off the chain. They'll have more space to work with, the ground will be grass instead of dirt, the stages should be bigger and so on. EDC in Orlando seems to be growing every year. This was my first year and I was very impressed.

  3. DJ Smooth, the only way they could promise more space plus grass instead of dirt would be to hold (at least part of) the event INSIDE the Citrus Bowl. And that would be awesome! Appreciate the info and will follow that closely. It's also great to hear that EDC will return to Orlando for a 5th year!

    Thanks, Anon!
