PI Update: Disney Releases Funmeister Pin

Disney has just released a new collectors pin featuring the Funmeister, symbol of good times on beautiful Pleasure Island!  Like his former namesake on the totem pole outside Motion, the half moon is yellow with a red eyebrow and blue eye.  Unlike the namesake, there is a silver "hidden mickey" on the chin.  Interestingly, the pin is only $2.95 but can only be purchased in conjunction with $30 or more of other pin merchandise.  Available at Disney Pin Traders in Downtown Disney Marketplace.  Why has Disney suddenly embraced its Pleasure Island heritage these past few months?  We hope it's more than them just toying with us!

  1. The "hidden Mickey" pins were typically "lanyard pins" (i.e. pins you couldn't buy, but could only get by trading with a CM who had the pin on their lanyard).
I wonder if they scrapped a plan to release the Funmeister as a lanyard pin, and instead decided to liquidate the pins by selling them. $2.95 is pretty cheap for a pin.

  2. Anon, this pin is a "completer pin" to the 2011 Hidden Mickey set. Nonetheless, it was not issued until now.

so start opening up the clubs and let everyone party.

would have to find out who might come back (sure most will not) hire dj's buy more alcohol. get the music (cd's) back. bring back the sound system(s) adn hook it all up/lighting get the ticket booths back up to par! and not to mention the BIG risk of money! they wold put in to it! seams like to me IF most of the people who read this would have gone MAYBE it would have never closed? 6. They also released a Disney vinylmation of the Funmeister a few months ago in the "Park Starz" series. It was the "mystery chaser" vinylmation of the series.

    Here's a pic:

  8. Got my Funmeister pin last night at DTD. It is part of the Hidden Mickey series of pins so you can't pick it out. The series comes in black plastic and you might randomly get the Funmeister. Likely cheaper to just buy it on Ebay.

  9. Is this pin still available at the Pin stores? I will be back in your lovely city in just 17 days and must buy this!

  10. Belle, the pin should still be available at Pin Traders but the problem is that it's part of a set and it's hidden. You can't see which pin you're buying. See my April 29th entry above.

Email me if you need some more CityWalk passes.
