Here's the first video: (8TRAX 70's Disco Night)
Then, After the "8 Trax" (70's) set of music at the club, the Evolution Dancers came out to do a show, and then the music changed back to today's Top 40 Dance Music. And that was it of 8 Trax night.
Then, yes, they even do the "Cupid Shuffle" on the Disney Dream "Right @ Midnight...just like @ Motion on Pleasure Island"...
Look what else they have taken from the Island and celebrate every night on the ship:
It's in the "Family" Club, but...Really? They really need to reconsider what they have done to our beloved Island... They can do it on the ship, but not on property?
Great cruise! Great night time "Adult" entertainment! Can't wait for our next cruise.....DJMadManRay
Why is this ok for Disney to do on a ship but at Disney World its not ok?
ReplyDeleteDon't get it either! What the hell Disney? Maybe I'll just take a cruise and forget Disney World. We'll just stay at Universal Resort with the family when we come to Orlando.
ReplyDeleteOMG I could just cry! Why the double standard Disney??? Obviously you DO see that people like to dance in a club! Bring back Pleasure Island, PLEASE!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with the crowd. Sure, nowhere near PI crowded, but far more people in the club than I saw in March.
ReplyDeleteDisney's Pleasure Island was the best and untouchable entertainment by far! I thankyou for this cruise update and now will look forward to booking a cruise for my family knowing that there IS adult entertainment (island esque) on there for those of us that are looking for it. Thanks again.
ReplyDeletePs. We haven't been back to Disney World since the closing of Pleasure Island, so the cruise sounds like a great idea for everybody.
ReplyDeleteObviously management at Disney Cruise Line recognizes the importance of adult-oriented entertainment even though the focus is on families and children.
ReplyDeleteHow in the world this gets so ignored at Walt Disney World all comes down to WDW management. Why this is acceptable to higher management in California is beyond me.
well 1st things 1st
ReplyDeleteWALT Disney would have never had PI open and drinking on his property! and I would guess the CAL guys are OLD SCHOOL and follow the OLD SCHOOL rules
and I think this is the reason for PI not to reopen
While Walt may have not wanted alcohol at Disneyland or Walt Disney World (WDW at the time was the Magic Kingdom only), EPCOT as envisioned by Walt was a wholly-contained city that included night clubs. A PI type district would definitely have existed.
ReplyDeleteBut regardless of Walt, Disney World today can hardly be called alcohol-free. With the one exception of MK, it is everwhere in abundance.
" EPCOT as envisioned by Walt was a wholly-contained city that included night clubs. A PI type district would definitely have existed."
ReplyDeleteI just look up the EPCOT on wikipedia and I saw Nothing about a PI kind of thing or anything that WALT wanted drinkin on his property!
if you saw it so it to me? Please!
This video about Walt's vision for EPCOT includes the mention of nightlife in the city core. Well yeah, it doesn't say alcohol, but nightlife in a working city includes alcohol. It sure wasn't going to be a "dry" community of tomorrow.
