PI Update: Motion Now About Half Way Gone!!

Blog roving reporter Thommy was on Pleasure Island yesterday and sends this photo showing the continued demolition of club Motion. He reports the building is now about half way demolished. I think this shows that they're really not taking the place apart piece by piece, but actual wrecking is taking place!

  1. I never realized how pavement would be a better placement than a building. I vow to always walk along the waterfront, than on that new piece of poured slab.

  3. mine to Anon. I am not a happy camper about these changes. But we all knew this was happening. It was just a matter of time. They should have started demolition a long time ago, instead of dragging it this long. This whole experience feels like a slow death, LOL.

  4. Agreed Jerry...A very slow, painful death! It just makes me sick to my stomach... Not just the demolition, but the fact that Disney has not announced any opening or reopening of ANY adult evening entertainment. DAMN MOUSE!!

  5. Disney has made an announcement about the adult entertainment! they want it to be FAMILY friendly! unless you.... and or someone else wants to bring it (a 3rd party)
now what do you not understand about that?

  7. What's not understood is Disney's thinking! I understand they think that family entertainment can make money all day long, but why not something in the evening that will make Hyperian Warf a destination for adults also??

  8. There won't be any adult entertainment at Hyperion Wharf. I am certainly not counting on it. But one thing I do count on. And that is all the GREAT people I met at PI. I never would have had the opportunity to meet such Great people had it not been for PI. So, I am thankful for that. Yes, I am not very happy with their ultimate decision. I, too, want them to open Mannequins, 8-Trax and the Comedy Club again. That would be real cool. But little ol' me don't have any say. Even the letters we wrote a few months ago did not make any difference. I didn't think they would. Disney has a mission. Its not what I would have done, but we all have no choice but accept it. You can choose to go or not to go. We all have that choice. But lets all do one thing. Let us all stay in touch with eachother. Irregardless, Disney will do what they have been wanting to do for a while. So be it!!! But let us all not bicker about this. Its petty.

  9. Jerry, I agree with you about all the great people I met at PI and ironically all the great people I met AFTER PI. Because of running into so many of you after PI closed that I really did not know personally but recognized by face, many new post-PI friendships were formed that very well may not have formed were it not for the closure. So that is at least one good thing that's come out of the closure.

  13. Hopefully the Disney people will wake up and smell the coffee and put adult entertainment again in Hyperion Wharf.

P.S. If not they're pretty dumb.
